Users with Internet access can reach e-Presta via Brains@Random URL http://brains.sbs.be.

(The Time Registration web tool can be accessed through a local or a remote Intranet connection via URL https://intranet.siemens.be/sbs/presto/logon.aspx

The first time http://brains.sbs.be is entered as address in the browser, a small portion of the Whale software is installed.

After entering your personnel number (BE001\bexxxxxx) and your Password, a number of functions are presented; one of them is the e-Presta application.

Step 1: On the calendar you choose the date for which you want to enter activities; default is today. (Official holidays are shown in colorin the calendar.)

Step 2: The field Network /Project contains a record with a short explanation text for every type of activity. Select the project you need.(If the only entry is “(none)”, the project definitions) is (are) not yet defined for you -> indicate this to your functional lead at Siemens IT Solutions and Services, who can trigger the BAC (Business and Administration Controller) to make the necessary definitions.

Step 3: Enter the start hour of the first activity in format hhmm (e.g. from 8 AM -> 0800) Step 4: Enter the end hour of the first activity in format hhmm (e.g. till noon -> 1200)

Step 5: Enter free comment if necessary (for guard activities, you choose the info G in the drop down list “Fact”.

!Don’t forget to SAVE after every step! If you take a (meal) break you do not enter this time. You ONLY enter working hours! These actions need to be done for every

If you worked 8 hours for a project and had a lunch break of 1 hour :

=> there are 2 ways for entering this data.

1st way: (PREFERRED - one single entry a day):

The total working time is 8 hours, so you fill in the form as in the example below.

Select your assigned project and enter the start time and end time so that the total work time is 8 hours.

Click on the button “Save”.

!If you take a (meal) break at noon of for instance 60 minutes, you do not enter this time!

In the upper screen next to the calendar you can see now, that you’ve worked 8 hours.

In the screen at the bottom a new box with information is visible. This is what you ‘ve entered.

If you want to change or adapt your working hours, you can click on the button “Upd”.

2nd way: (more detailed):

You enter following information

From 8AM (0800) until 12:00 (1200). Click the button “Save”.

Lunchbreak from 12:00-13:00

Since this is a break, you do not enter this time, because these are not working hours.

And then enter your hours for the afternoon: from 13PM (1300) until 17PM (1700). “Save” again

After saving, you see the result at the bottom of the screen.

Again you see now, that you’ve worked 8 hours.

At the bottom of the screen you see what you have entered. If you want to change or adapt your

working hours, you can click on the button “Upd”.

By activating button you get the overview of what has been entered for the current month shown in the calendar. Please check if you entered your working hours on the correct way.

This report can be used as agreement between the Siemens IT Solutions and Services Functional lead and the external consultant.

4.TRANSFER

After approval of your SIS supervisor, you (or your supervisor) transfer the data to the booking system on a weekly basis.

The data has to be registerd at the second last workday of the month at latest 17.00 h!

In the drop down menu “User” you chose “Param/Trans”.

After activating Param/Trans, you get the list of all the dates you filled out and that are ready to transfer.

However, If you do not want to transfer now the Time Registration records, but a selection you use the button „Transfer“ next to the days you want to transfer.

But any way at the second last day of the month they need to be transferred ALL!

Set All Activities Ready Y” transfers every day which is in the list (a possibility exists to enter day by day and only the desired days.)

5. TIPS & TRICKS

To make life easier, you can position in the calendar on a day, activate “Copy day”, then click on the day where the same data apply and activate “Paste day”. (SAVE is done automatically in this case.)

When you get the error “OTH , no record historic valid for the date 20080221” you can send a mail to your supervisor (who will send a mail to Service Desk), or you can send a mail directly to

Service Desk ([email protected]) via the mailbox OWH2003.

If you contact the Service Desk, please define as precise as possible your problem. It helps them to help you much better and even faster.

6. OVERVIEW

1. Only working hours are entered. (no breaks or holidays!)

2. Use the copy/paste function whenever you can.

3. Validate your data with approval of your SIS Supervisor

4. Do not forget to transfer your data!

5. In case your mission ends, do not forget to transfer your data before leaving the project!
