Introduction RDW

‘RDW, is the national vehicle and driver registration authority responsible for the safety and environmental aspects of the vehicle fleet in the Netherlands. In addition, the RDW registers the data of vehicles, their owners and the corresponding documents issued.’

Main tasks RDW

• Register driving licences and maintenance of the register (CRB)

• Business Service desk (Helpdesk)

• Exchange of foreign driving licences (1,5 % of the total)

• Renewal of Dutch driving licences for people living outside the EU/EEA

CBR, determines whether a person is able to drive
