makes the following rules further to amend the Gujarat PanchayatsServices Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1998,namely:-

l. These rules may be called the Gujarat panchayats Servicesclassification and Recruitment (General) (second Amendment)Rules, 20I1.

In the Gujarat Panchayats services classification andRecruitment (Generai) Rules, l9g9, (hereinafter referred to as"the said rules"), after rule 10, the following rule shalr be added,namely:-

" 10A. Appointment on contractual basis to in different cadres,posts and services in Panchayats Services:-Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules or any rulesor orders relating to selection of a person by direct recruitmentin different cadres, posts and services in the panchayatsServices;-

(l) 'fhe candidate selected by direct selection or on the resultof a competitive examination shall be appointed oncontractual basis in accordance with and on such termsand conditions as may be prescribed by the Governmentfrom time to time.

The candidate appointed in accordance with sub-rule ( 1)shall be given, at the end of contractual period, the payscale prescribed for the concemed post or service on hisperformance being found satisfactory during thestipulated period of service on contractual basis;

'fhe candidate appointed under sub rule (1) shall, duringthe stipulated period of service on contractual basis,

require to pass the Course on Computer Concept (C.C.C.)Examination for computer knowledge as prescribed inthe Gujarat Civil Services Computer CompetencyTraining and Examination Rules, 2006;

The candidate appointed under sub-rule (1) shalt duringthe stipulated period of service on contractual basis,require to under go pre-service training and pass the post-training examination in accordance with the rulesprescribed or as may be prescribed by the Govemment;

The candidate appoint under sub rule (l) shall, afterregular appointment, pass an examination in Hindi orGujarati or both, as the case may be, in accordance withthe rules prescribed by the Govemment;

Provided that the provision of sub-rules (3), (4)and (5) shall not apply to the appointments made to theInferior Panchayat Services, Class IV, on frxed pay oncontractual basis""

3- In the said rules, in rule 11, after the first proviso, the followingproviso shall be inserted, namely:-

"Provided also that nothing in this rule shall apply to theappointments made to the Superior Panchayat Service oncontractual basis under rule 10A."
