The e-scan series

The Bruker bench-top EPR spectrometer is designed to meet the demands of today’s and tomorrow’s academic and industrial laboratories. The e-scan series incorporate an innovative instrument concept that results in high quality performance for your research needs or daily quality control.

EPR also known as Electron Spin Resonance is a spectroscopic technique which detects samples that have unpaired electrons (such as free radicals). In fact, EPR is the only method to directly and unambiguously detect free radicals.

Bruker is the world-wide leader of EPR instrumentation and thanks to Bruker’s decades of experience, the e-scan delivers unparalleled price-to-performance ratio.

Features

Reliable Performance

The e-scan series is designed for today’s laboratory requirements. It combines easy operation with X-band research grade sensitivity and affordability. The permanent magnet provides high quality results without cooling water require-ment. The robustness of the instrument allows it to be used in the laboratory and factory floor.

Easy to Use

Customizable workspaces, automatic acquisition schemes and data evalua-tion are standard in the e-scan software. Learning the software and operating the instrument is so easy that even person-nel with minimal training can work with e-scan series spectrometers.

User-friendly Software

Easy-to-use WinEPR Acquisition software includes a comprehensive collection of data acquisition procedures such as field sweep, time scan, 2D power sweep, 2D incremental sweep, and automatic baseline correction. With visual basic scripting, acquisition, processing and reporting, the data are completely customizable.

WinEPR provides a complete processing package for analyzing the acquired data. Filtering noisy spectra, resolution enhancement, offset correction, double integration, differentiation, peak picking and many more functions can be performed in a few easy steps.

Simfonia is a fast, easy-to-use EPR spectral simulation program with simulation algorithm based upon perturbation theory. Both solution and powder spectra can be simulated. Simulated spectra can be saved in a WinEPR compatible format for sophisticated post-processing.

Accessories

e-scanM (multi-purpose)

Sample tubes – high quality precision tubes with 2, 3, 4, and 8 mm I.D. are available to match the desired sample volume.

Flat cells – for liquids with dielectric loss such as water or other polar solvents. Accurate positioning of the flat cell is achieved by a specifically designed holder.

AquaX – a multiple-bore design of closely spaced capillaries available in 4- and 19-bore design. Advantages include higher sensitivity than a capillary and higher reproducibility than a flat cell. Also provides convenient continuous flow measurements.

Finger dewar – for applications requiring low temperature such as detection of nitric oxide (NO), the liquid nitrogen finger dewar is the method of choice, attaining a sample temperature of 77 K.

Compatible with NOxygen (BIO I/II/III) systems provide accurate and precise control of sample temperature and gas composition.

Heating and cooling plate - a multifunctional device developed for incubation of samples placed in 0.2, 0.5 or 1.5 ml capillary tubes in a temperature range from 0ºC to +50ºC.

Shear stress controller - designed for detection of ROS and RNS during studies of cultured cells to laminar, pulsatile or oscillatory shear stress under controlled temperature and oxygen concentration ( 0.1 - 250 mmHg of pO2).
