Well, by now we will hopefully have seen the last of the distinctly un-Spring like weather that pervaded most of April and can focus on the prospects of a long, warm summer ahead (albeit with a hosepipe ban in place!). And with it comes another Carey’s Pipe & Tobacco Shop Catalogue, Edition 109.Once again we are proud to showcase another Limited Edition pipe range on the front cover… mindful that this is our last catalogue before the London 2012 Olympics we thought we ought to commission pipes worthy of this great sporting event, so we put our heads together with one of the UK’s leading pipe artisans, Chris Askwith, and the result is here for all to see! The Olympic Range of beautiful, rusticated pipes are carved from absolute top quality, individually selected briar ebauchons and feature a 9mm hand crafted mouthpiece and genuine gold, silver and bronze rings (internally hallmarked) to match the ring detailing to the bowl. Such unique pipes are only available on a bespoke basis, individually or as a set of three. No. 2023 Dark Flake No. 7 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .This blend is a heat treated Virginia and Burley flake, matured in the press for 8 weeks to allow the natural prune and chocolate notes to come through. Full bodied with superb flavour and cool smoking qualities.

No. 2024 Ready Rubbed No. 7 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .A fully teased and rubbed version of the Dark Flake No. 7, retaining all the same delicate chocolate and prune character but in what is for many people a more familiar style of tobacco.

No. 2025 Old Belt Virginia Blend . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .A light but full flavoured blend of predominantly US-grown Old Belt Virginia grades. A small amount of Oriental tobaccos with a light touch of Latakia, blended with Black Cavendish for a smooth and mild taste.
