Introduction

The need to have a reliable power source 24x7 is more important than ever in today’s business environment. Supplying critical and clean power without interruption, the EA900II series offers high performance Uninterruptible Power Supplies for servers, networking, and other high availability equipment.

The systems in the EA900II series are equipped with advanced features such as true online double conversion topology and optional control through the network. This makes the EA900II the solution to handling both today’s demands and those of the future.

True Online Double Conversion

The EA900II applies true online double conversion technology, providing you with clean and high quality power. The zero transfer time ensures that power is supplied without interruption, thereby fully protecting mission-critical devices.

Output Power Factor

The EA900II series have the upgraded power factor of 0.9. This allows users to increase the usable power of your UPS without increasing the system’s footprint. The upgrade eliminates the costs for UPS expansions, valuable space and allows users to use the UPS to its full capacities.

Wide Input Voltage Range

The EA900II provides stable power to connected devices in unstable power conditions. It is capable of handling a wide input voltage range.

Pure Sine-wave

The pure sine-wave output of the EA900II series guarantees compatibility with all kinds of loads, providing perfect power protection for versatile applications such as networking, telecoms and other mission critical usage.

Optional Emergency Power Off (EPO) Function

The EA900II can be optional equipped with an Emergency Power Off function, providing users with a way of immediately shutting down all output power from the UPS in the case of emergencies such as fire, flood, and overheating equipment.

User-friendly LCD Display

The user friendly LCD display, situated at the front of the EA900II, provides you with instantaneous information about values such as input and output voltage, input and output frequency, load in percentage terms, and available battery capacity.

Self-diagnosis at UPS Start Up

The UPS will perform advanced self-diagnostics to ensure the functionality of the UPS system and batteries, and to anticipate events before they occur.

Cold Start

In the absence of any AC input, the cold start function allows users to start the UPS with the batteries, and without any damage to them or the circuits. This means that users can easily configure the UPS, even if no AC input is available.

Digital Control Technology (DCT)

The EA900II series is equipped with a 32 bit data bus microprocessor, which is capable of quickly and accurately detecting and controlling all changes to the UPS through the use of innovative software.

Advance PFC Technology

The power factor correction technology within the EA900II series uses a filter to significantly reduce harmonics. This means that the system’s efficiency loss is significantly lower, which translates into better performance and reliability and reduced operating costs. This advanced design can also be used in a redundant mode to share the system’s load

Lightning and Surge Protection

The EA900II series’ UPS systems come with lightning and surge protection as standard, thus protecting the equipment against voltage spikes. Surge protection works by channeling the extra voltage into the outlet’s groundning wire, preventing it from flowing through electronic devices, while also allowing normal voltage to be maintained.

Short Circuit and Overload Protection

A short circuit is an abnormal connection between two nodes of an electrical circuit, and can cause huge damage to the UPS and any equipment attached to it. The EA900II circuit protection device will protect against potential short circuit damage, overheating, fire, or even explosions. The UPS is also equipped with overload protection, meaning that the fuse will automatically be triggered when a load exceeds its value. Both protection devices ensure the safety and reliability of the UPS and any equipment that is attached to it.

Variable Fan Speed

The intelligent variable fan speed ensures that the speed of the fans is adjusted to the amount of load and heat dissipation of the UPS.

EMI RFI Noise Filter

Electromagnetic interference (EMI or radio frequency interface, RFI) is a disturbance which affects an electrical circuit. The EMI RFI Noise Filter will protect your UPS system against any interference which may interrupt the effective performance of the device.

The EA900 series are also available in an outdoor solution to fit all locations including the outdoor locations which are still in demand for solid, reliable power solutions.

The EA900 Outdoor is designed to fit all locations and environments and is unique in its own range. It also incorporate many specs with no loss of any of the mandatory specifications that are so important when it comes to supplying backup to your security solutions.

IP55

The cabinets are built and designed for applications where a sealed environment from water and dust is required. Furthermore the system is designed in such a way that it is frost and corrosion resistant providing maximum protection for the UPS and batteries.

Static Transfer Switch

The EA900 Outdoor UPS is equipped with a manual bypass switch enabling field engineers to execute maintenance without interrupting the power supplied to the load and keeping MTTR to a minimum.

Communication Interfaces

The EA900 Outdoor UPS provides users the ability to send alarms by using dry contact during events such as mains failure, low battery voltage, common failure and so on.

Optional SNMP Card

The SNMP card allows users to connect the EA900 Outdoor directly to the ethernet network and the internet. This solution means that you can conveniently monitor and manage the UPS with a standard web browser, while simultaneously being able to shutdown multiple computers and operating systems over the network.

Color

Standard any RAL color is available. On request Camouflage or other special colors can be ordered as an option.

Advanced Battery Management

The EA900II series is equipped with a sophisticated three step charger for efficiently charging the UPS while prolonging battery life.

Step 1 The charger provides a constant charge current until the battery has reached 80% of its capacity, meaning that the UPS is ready to operate again when a new power failure occurs.

Step 2 The charge voltage is held constant for about 60 minutes, allowing the charge current to gradually decline towards the end of this period. The battery will now have been charged to about 90% of its capacity.

Step 3 The charge voltage drops to a float-charge in order to compensate for self discharge, thereby prolonging the life of the batteries.

Optional Extended Runtime

The EA900II series can be upgraded with extra battery packs, allowing users to increase runtime from several minutes up to several hours.

Hot-swappable Battery Design

The EA900II 6 and 10 kVA battery packs are hot-swappable and user replaceable, meaning that downtime during maintenance or replacement is kept to a minimum.

RS232 + Dry Contact (optional)

The EA900II is equipped with a multifunctional RS232 port. This can be used for dry contact, supplying relay functionality for a low battery, AC fail, and other common failures of custom-wired applications. It can also be connected to a computer or server for the standard shutdown software.

Standard Shutdown Software

The EA900II comes with standard software which can automatically shutdown the server or computer when a power failure occurs. This software allows the UPS to instruct the operating systems to close down a PC when it is running unattended. Users can set the parameters with which to schedule when the computer or server should shutdown, making sure that no significant data is lost and important backups are created. Updates will be automatically sent by email, so that users are always aware of what is happening, even at remote locations.

Communication slot

The multifunctional communication slot is conveniently located at the back of the UPS and can be used to accommodate a variety of accessory cards. The wide range of cards that are available means that the EA900II can be used for various applications and in numerous locations.

SNMP Card

The SNMP card allows users to connect the EA900II directly to the ethernet network and the internet. This solution means that you can conveniently monitor and manage the UPS with a standard web browser, while simultaneously being able to shutdown multiple computers and operating systems over the network.

Environmental Card

The environmental card provides the functionality with which to remotely monitor environmental and UPS conditions using a standard web browser, SNMPview, or third-party network management software. Users can observe the ambient temperature, humidity, or the presence of water in the remote location, along with the status of additional contact devices such as a smoke detector or an open-door/window sensor.

Relay I/O Card

The Relay I/O card can be inserted in the SNMP slot at the back of the UPS, providing dry contact relay outputs for custom-wired applications and delivering support for the built-in shutdown of AS/400 systems. This option provides contact closures for the remote monitoring of alarm conditions in the UPS, delivering signals for On Battery, On Bypass, Low Battery, Summary Alarm, UPS Fault and On UPS.

GPRS Card

The GPRS card can be used with the EA900II and enables the user to have an in depth overview of the status of the UPS and the power at a particular location without any network or internet connection. The status can be viewed using the web interface, an SNMPview or third-party network management software. As long as there is GPRS coverage, you will be able to deploy this card.
