Brr! It’s cold outside, but we still have lots of fun activities indoors to keep you busy this winter and spring. Art, karate, basketball, soccer and lots more! Make sure to register, as spaces fill up fast! See Registration-page 19.

From the Mayor ElectResidents of Eagle and surrounding areas have an excellent opportunity to participate in a variety of activities sponsored by the City of Eagle’s Parks and Recreation Department. Eagle is committed to providing recreation services that enhance the quality of life for all age groups. The City’s Parks and Recreation staff has expanded services and is responsible for a variety of programs, in addition to our wonderful traditional recreation programs. Cultural activities and events are designed to provide a sense of community as well as attracting residents and visitors to Eagle to support Eagle’s business community. A few of the activities and events include the responsibility and management of the Eagle Saturday Market, Gazebo Concert Series, Harvest Fest and Country Christmas. Newly elected Council members campaigned to enhance Eagle’s vibrant community by providing additional activities requested by residents.

Your participation and input for these and future activities are warmly welcomed.

Join this level 2 class as we continue our exploration and study of the elements of art as they relate to drawing with graphite/pencil. We will expand on the important topics of value, shape and line, as well as delve into space, form, and balance. Students will end the class with two finished pieces. • The baseball field at Guerber Park is being revitalized for baseball by the Eagle Diamond Rats youth baseball league!

• The Eagle Market is undergoing a period of change and improvement while we gather public input. Stay tuned to learn more!

• New park equipment: be on the lookout for new bulletin boards at Merrill and Guerber Parks! These boards will help us display park reservations, upcoming programs/events, and general information about Eagle Parks & Recreation.

• Three new events are coming your way this spring (check out the back cover of the guide for more information about each of these programs):

• Trail Treasure Trek- family scavenger hunt on the greenbelt and other river trails

• Trail Eggxtravaganza- Easter egg hunt on Eagle’s paths and trails

• Yappy Hour- Eagle’s first pop-up dog park coming to Merrill Park

• Dog Park- we are beginning the process of planning for a future dog park in Eagle. Join us January 25th from 6-8 pm for an open house to share your input and ideas.

• Hidden improvements: a new smart irrigation system will be installed at Guerber Park. This new system will allow us to remotely monitor the soil moisture and make adjustments accordingly.

• The greenbelt paving project on the north side of the north channel of the Boise River is now complete, connecting Eagle to Garden City.

Fees are subject to change at any time by resolution of the Council without additional notice except as required by Idaho Code 63-1311A. Every effort has been made to ensure that all information in this guide was accurate at time of printing. However, information, including program dates, times, location, and fees is subject to change at any time. WEATHER POLICY: The city of Eagle will suspend outdoor programs and field use when conditions dictate. To receive cancellation or closure information visit our website or facebook page.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY: Please register at least two business days before the program start date to avoid program cancellation. If minimum registration is not met two business days prior to program start date, the city of Eagle reserves the right to cancel the class. Should this occur, a full refund or program credit will be issued.Refunds must be requested in writing at least three business days prior to the program start date. All refunds are subject to a $5 service charge (no service charge if refund is a program credit).

TRAIL TREASURE TREK / ALL AGESDo you want to explore part of Eagle’s amazing trail system with your family? Join us on a trail scavenger hunt on one of the marked trails near the Boise River and see how many items you can find on the list provided. Find them all and win a prize! Two different length trail treks will be marked, ensuring fun for the whole family. Wear your hiking shoes and bring your parents along for the fun. Suggested for children up to age 10.
