The food was great! The smiles were out!Most of the holiday events have been cancelled in and around Virginia Beach, and our neighboring cities for the rest of this year. So I call out to You, Our Members, to volunteer or set up a committee for a holiday function and/or fund drive. The need is increasing and our calendar is open.The virus is still out there, and the Aerie is adhering to the requirements set forth by Virginia Beach VA.. Our Trustee’s are working diligently maintaining current requirements/recommendations and updates on our website and social media. Please follow them. From our Auxiliary PresidentIt has gotten so hot! I hope that everyone is staying cool and hydrated. The 4th of July BBQ was a lot of fun. It was great to be able to celebrate in our Aerie Home. Thank you to the Trustees and those that helped out. The food was really good.The Auxiliary is looking at the calendar to start planning events. We are anxious to get back to raising money. Save the date for the Ladies Auxiliary Anniversary, September 26th. We are planning a fun event, more details to follow next month.Please remember to follow the safety guidelines posted in the Aerie. FOOD DRIVEAs of 6/30/20 VCC food pantry has served 523 house-holds or 1,920 individuals. We are continually in need of food and/or personal items. If you would like to donate, please feel free to e-mail, call or text me to schedule a pick up. We need everything, but totally out of rice, boxed or canned potatoes and peanut butter. VETERANS NEWS The Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations has canceled the Veterans Day parade, formal ceremony and luncheon on Wednesday, 11 November 2020. All rep-resentatives in attendance voted to cancel because of the Coronavirus danger. All attending representatives approved to carryover the duties and responsibilities of the 2020 year to the 2021 year. Voting for Aerie 3204 was Rep. Tosca Wheelock. As per the above, it is recommended that each organiza-tion carry out their own salute and honors for Veterans Day 2020. Until further notice HRCVO meetings will take place by Zoom communication. Next meeting Monday, 24 August at 6 PM. Questions concerning the above can be directed to Bob Freitag (497-3336), Aerie 3204 Veterans Day Chairperson.
