Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from
Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before
crossing over. 2 After three days the officers went throughout the
camp, 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests
carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.
4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.”
5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do
amazing things among you.” --Joshua 3:1-5

Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from
Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before
crossing over. 2 After three days the officers went throughout the
camp, 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests
carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.
5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate
yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD
will do amazing things among you.”
In the future, when your children ask you, ’What do these stones
mean?’ [7] tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the
Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut
off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel
forever." Joshua 4:6-7 (NIV)
1. It’s too new, like an unknown language2. It’s not so melodious as the more established style3.There are so many new songs that it is impossible
to learn them all4.This new music creates disturbances and causes
people to act in an indecent and disorderly manner5. It places too much emphasis on instrumental
music rather than on godly lyrics6.The lyrics are often worldly, even blasphemous7. It is not needed, since preceding generations have
gone to heaven without it8. It is a contrivance to get money9. It monopolizes the Christians’ time and
encourages them to stay out late10.These new musicians are young upstarts, and
some of them are lewd and loose persons.
Then the Lord said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with
its king and its fighting men. [3] March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. [4] Have seven priests
carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing
the trumpets. [5] When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the
people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up,
every man straight in." --Joshua 6:2-5 (NIV)
