Home visitaon programs play an integral role in assisng families with children ages five years old and younger to learn and understand basic child development pracces. As a result parents become more asserve in their role, set goals for their family and themselves and are beer able to posively impact the developmental, emoonal and educaonal needs of their children. Through the Home Visitor CDA® credenaling program, home visitors will gain and demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge to support families of young children with all types of cultural, economic and social backgrounds. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS SETTING: Must work (or volunteer) in an established program of home visits to families with children five years old or younger. You must have a minimum of four families in your caseload. LITERACY: Be able to speak, read, and write in the language of the assessment, in which the Candidate conducts the home visits, well enough to fulfill the responsibilies of a Home Visitor CDA® Candidate. EDUCATION: Earn a High School diploma or equivalent (GED); and complete 120 clock hours of formal educaon in the 8 CDA subject areas (at least 10 hours in each area). EXPERIENCE: Within three years before you apply, obtain 480 hours of experience working in a home vising program serving families with children age’s birth through five years old. Volunteer hours are accepted. EVALUATION PROCESS 1. The Candidate meets all eligibility requirements and demonstrates skills in the six CDA® Competency Goals and 13 Funconal Areas while working with families of young children. 2. The Candidate prepares a Professional Porolio as a reflecve professional development experience based on their work as a home visitor. The porolio includes documents verifying compleon of 120 clock hours of formal educaon, Family Quesonnaires, Parent Observaon Permission Form, CDA® Assessor Recommendaon, a Resource Collecon, six Reflecve Statements of Competence and a Professional Philosophy Statement. 3. Once a Candidate meets all eligibility and documentaon requirements, the Candidate will select a Home Visitor CDA Professional Development (PD) Specialist™ to conduct the CDA Verificaon Visit™. The specialist will provide the Candidate with their CDA® PD Specialist ID number (required on the CDA® applicaon). The Candidate will submit the paper applicaon to the Council for Professional Recognion for review. Upon approval of the paper applicaon, the Council will send the Candidate a “Ready to Schedule” noce and a deadline of six months to complete the final assessment, the CDA Verificaon Visit™. 4. The CDA Verificaon Visit™ is conducted by the Home Visitor CDA PD Specialist™ following the R.O.R Model® (Review, Observe and Reflect™): the specialist reviews the porolio, observes Candidate conducng a home visit with a family from their caseload, and ends the visit with a reflecve dialogue, where the specialist facilitates reflecon on the Candidate’s strengths and areas of future development and together they develop an acon plan for the future. 5. The Home Visitor CDA PD Specialist™ sends the Candidate’s scores to the Council and the Council makes a final credenaling decision to award or deny the Home Visitor CDA® Credenal. Los programas de visitas a hogares desempeñan un papel integral en la ayuda a familias con niños de 5 años o menores a aprender y comprender prácti cas básicas de desarrollo infanti l. Como resultado, los padres se vuelven más resueltos en su papel, trazan metas para su familia y para sí mismos, y son más capaces de impactar positi vamente las necesidades emocionales, educacionales y de desarrollo de sus hijos.Gracias al programa de certi fi cación de Visitadores de hogares CDA®, los Visitadores de hogares ti enen la oportunidad de ganar y demostrar las destrezas y conocimientos necesarios para apoyar a las familias de niños pequeños de cualquier origen cultural, económico y social.

REQUISITOS DE ELEGIBILIDAD• AMBIENTE: Debe trabajar (o ser voluntario) en un programa de visitas a hogares de familias con niños de 5 años o

menores. El candidato debe tener un mínimo de cuatro familias asignadas en su cartera de clientes.• LECTOESCRITURA: Debe ser capaz de hablar, leer y escribir en el idioma de la evaluación, en la que realiza las visitas a

los hogares, lo sufi cientemente bien como para desempeñar las funciones de un candidato de Visitadores de hogares CDA®

• EDUCACIÓN: Debe tener un diploma de secundaria o equivalente (GED), y 120 horas reloj de educación formal en las 8 áreas temáti cas CDA® (al menos 10 horas en cada área).

• EXPERIENCIA: Debe obtener 480 horas de experiencia de trabajo en un programa de visitas a hogares que sirve a familias con niños de 5 años o menores dentro de los últi mos 3 años de la fecha de solicitud. Se aceptan horas de trabajo voluntario.

PROCESO DE EVALUACIÓN1. El candidato sati sface todos los requisitos de elegibilidad y demuestra sus destrezas en las seis metas de competencia

CDA® y trece áreas funcionales mientras trabaja con las familias de los niños pequeños.2. El candidato prepara un portafolio profesional como una experiencia de desarrollo profesional refl exiva basada en su

trabajo como Visitador de hogares. El portafolio conti ene documentos que confi rman 120 horas reloj de educación formal, cuesti onarios para las familias, formulario de autorización de observación de los padres, recomendación del asesor, una recopilación de recursos, seis testi monios refl exivos de competencia y un testi monio de fi losofí a profesional.

3. Una vez que el candidato cumple con todos los requisitos de elegibilidad y documentación, este elige a un Especialista CDA en desarrollo profesionalMR de Visitadores de hogares. Dicho especialista le da al candidato su nombre y su número de identi fi cación necesarios para completar la solicitud. El candidato envía entonces al Concilio la solicitud de papel. Después que la solicitud de papel es aprobada el Concilio le envía al candidato una noti fi cación “Listo para programar” y un plazo de seis meses para completar la evaluación fi nal (la Visita de verifi cación CDA®).

4. El Especialista CDA en desarrollo profesionalMR de Visitadores de hogares realiza la visita valiéndose del Modelo R.O.R.MR (Revisión, Observación, y Refl exiónMR): el especialista revisa el portafolio, observa al candidato dirigir una visita en un hogar con una familia de su cartera de clientes, y termina la visita con un diálogo refl exivo en el que el especialista facilita la refl exión sobre las fortalezas y aquellas áreas en las que el candidato necesita mayor desarrollo profesional y juntos desarrollan un plan de acción para el futuro.

5. El especialista de visitadores de hogares envía la puntuación del candidato al Concilio y este toma una decisión fi nal de otorgar o no la credencial de Visitadores de hogares CDA®.
