UNIFORM POLICY 2018 The Broadbeach Independent Public School uniform policy reinforces in students a pride in their own appearance, instils recognition of themselves as an integral part of the school community, and assists in developing pride in representing their school. Our uniform policy is consistent with health and safety and anti-discrimination legislation. Broadbeach State School dress code offers gender neutral uniform options for all students. The school colours are purple, white and black. The wearing of the school uniform is compulsory and is a collective responsibility (parents, students and staff). Students are required to wear correct school uniform every day unless there is a specific uniform free day.

School jumper purchased from our uniform shop or a plain black jump-er. No hoods and no logos. These can be purchased at many depart-ment stores.

Hooded jumpers breach Work Place Health and Safety require-ments in the playground and are therefore not permitted.

Plain black long pants, shorts or leggings (no logos) are acceptable during cooler months.

Jewellery Jewellery is to be kept to a minimum for Workplace Health and Safety re-quirements.

Cultural / Religious / Medical jewellery are the only other acceptable items to be worn at school. Items worn around the neck and/or wrist present as a possible safety issue in the play-ground and/or Physical Education les-sons.

Should your child be required to wear an item for cultural, religious or medi-cal reasons, please provide your con-sent in writing to your class teacher / Administration.

Hair Medium to long hair must be tied up. Small purple, black or white hair ac-cessories are acceptable.

You are able to order uniforms on Flexischools, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Take advantage of this time saving facility. Your order will be processed on the next school day or as stock is available and the items sent home with your child via their teacher. The uniform shop window is located next to the Broadie Bite and is opened every day. Monday to Friday from 8:00am - 9:00am Methods of payment available are cash, EFTPOS and credit card. Please ensure your child has an approved school hat for outdoor activities including lunch time play. The Broadbeach Independent Public School acceptable codes of dress are below.
