16th September, 2021 Message from the Principal Dear parents, staff and students, Faction Carnival Congratulations to all our students who took part in the various athletics carnivals last week. It was wonderful to see all students demonstrating enthusiasm and competing with outstanding team spirit. Thank you to our parents and families for coming along to support the teams and to the Year 6 Fundraising Committee for running the sausage sizzle. Congratulations to all factions for their excellent performance and a special congratulations to Bilbies for being the 2021 winning faction. Well done to our medallists: Junior Girls Junior Boys Inters Girls Inters Boys Kainga A Champion Girl Xavier C Champion Boy Alexis P Champion Girl Rogan M Champion Boy Annabelle C Runner Up Cassius E & Artem V Runner Up Samara L & Eboni M Runner up Zeytrahn K & Brody P Runner Up Senior Girls Senior Boys Gabriella M Champion Girl Zach F Champion Boy Hinda A Runner Up Kane M Runner Up The carnival was a huge success and would not have been possible without the organisation and hard work of Mr Maidens and all staff. Next week selected students will be taking part in the Interschool Athletics Carnivals and I would like to wish all our competitors the very best in their events. Massed Choir Festival Congratulations to our Choir members who took part in the Massed Choir Performance at the Perth Concert Hall last night. This is a high profile event that showcases primary school choirs. Our choir performed exceptionally and proudly represented our school. Thank you to Ms Veitch for all her hard work in preparing the choir for this event. Swimming A reminder that In-Term Swimming will take place in weeks 1 and 2 next term (13th—22nd October) for students in years 1 to 6. The program provides quality swimming lessons to students teaching them vital water safety skills. For students to attend, permission forms, swimming level and medical forms must be returned with payment no later than Monday 20th September. Parents wishing to pay this amount in instalments are asked to discuss this with the office staff. 2022 Class Structures and Parent Requests We are in the process of looking at class structures for next year. Parents are reminded to please advise the school if your child is not returning to East Beechboro Primary School next year as it is essential that we are as accurate as possible with our projected student numbers. Parents who have a special request for a particular class for their child are asked to put their request in writing addressed to the Principal. Please note that consideration will only be given to those requests based on the educational needs and requirements of the student. Although we will make every effort to try to accommodate specific requests, we cannot necessarily guarantee that they will be accommodated. Based on our current projection of student numbers, we envisage that we may need to establish some composite classes. These classes are formed due to uneven grade enrolments (ie when there are too many students to form one "straight" grade but not enough to form two). As schools are funded on the total number of students in the school, it is not viable for schools to run “straight classes” with small numbers of students in them. Parents are assured that students who are placed in composite classes are not disadvantaged in any way as teachers at our school are experienced at teaching across year levels. Information regarding Composite Classes is available in the Policies section of our website. Parents who may have concerns are asked to speak to a member of the school leadership team. End of Term We have had a very busy and exciting term with events such as our athletics carnivals, Book Week and various fundraising events. Term 4 is always very enjoyable and we look forward to all the events planned including all our end of year celebrations and festivities. Alt- hough we still have another week until the end of term, I would like to wish our school community a relaxing and restful holiday. Term 4 commences for students on Monday 11th October. P&C Rollerdrome Our P&C held an event at the Rollerdrome on Friday 27th August. Students and families took

to the floor with their skates and had a great time. It was wonderful that our students and parents came together and made sure that everyone was well looked after that they could really enjoy the evening. We are very fortunate to have such a supportive school community, Thank you to our P&C and Mrs Robertson for coordinating the event.

SCIENCE DAY To celebrate National Science Week, yesterday, all our students
