PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Outdoor Family Storytime (30 minute program for families) – Join us just outside the Library for a family storytime including stories, rhymes, music, and movement! No registration required. Pre-registration is required; space is limited.
READing Paws (15 minute time slots for children reading independently) – Children can sign up to practice
reading aloud to a therapy dog. READing Paws helps young readers gain confidence and practice fluency.
Pre-registration is required; space is limited.
Virtual Stuffed Animal Slumber Party (1-hour program designed for ages 2-7 & families) - Register for the program; then drop
off your stuffed animal friend at the East Branch Library (Oviedo) before 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 12th. Stuffed animals will
take a ride on the “Sleepover Express” double-decker bus. When you join us on Zoom at 6:30, you’ll be able to watch a special
storytime that the stuffed animals will be watching in-person. Say goodnight to your stuffed animal via Zoom, and pick them
back up from the library after 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 13th, along with a booklet of pictures featuring the stuffed
animals’ sleepover activities. Pre-registration is required; space is limited.
Virtual “It’s Alive!” Make a Monster Puppet (45-minute program designed for early elementary schoolers & families) – Pick
up your activity bag from the Central Branch Library (Casselberry) before the program. It contains supplies you’ll need to make
your monster puppet, plus other fun activities! Then join us on Zoom for the program, where we’ll make our puppets together.
Participants will also be treated to monster stories, monster dancing, and monster science. Virtual and registration required.
Story Walk featuring The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda D. Williams
(In-person! Drop by at the East branch between 2:00 PM-5:00 PM) - Join our Children’s Librarians outside
the library, and travel around from page to page with us to read the story. There will also be games to play,
a pumpkin craft, and a pumpkin scavenger hunt! No registration required!
Virtual Game Night for Tweens-(1.5 hour program exclusively for Tweens, age 8-12)- After a
short icebreaker, we’ll play a special “book version” of Quiplash along with other fun Jackbox
games together in a virtual environment. An internet-connected device is required to play.
Instructions will be provided with online pre-registration.
