To the Parents and Students
I am very excited to be your Choir Director for 2012-2013 School
year. Iconsider it a great honor to hold this position, and I am
eager to dig into theschool year. I believe East Buchanan has the
best students and most
supportive community, and there are great goals to be
accomplished thisyear. I want to thank everybody who has decided to
be a part of this crazyworld known as choir!
This is my Fourth year at East Buchanan, and my expectations are
veryhigh. I encourage all of you to share this drive towards
excellence as we startour year. I want everybody involved to be
proud of their participation in thisensemble.
Classroom Rules- Show up to class on time!
- Respect other people, their belongings, and their space.-
Bring music and PENCIL to class everyday!- The only food, candy, or
beverage allowed is water.- Follow all school rules as listed in
the student handbook.
Consequences- Verbal Warning- Verbal Warning and/or being moved-
Time in Hot Seat with Think Sheet behavior evaluation- Removal from
class/ Detention
- Removal from class/ Detention with an office referral to the
principal.The parent/guardian will be notified. Further issues will
be handledindividually.
- In the case of a major problem such as fighting,
drug/alcohol/tobaccouse, offensive/disrespectful language, students
will be immediatelyreferred to the office. All other disruptions
will be handled with theabove consequences.
AttendanceAttendance will be taken at the beginning of each
class. You must be in
your assigned location when role is taken to be counted present.
Students
should also have their music and pencil ready to go. If
otherwise, the studentwill be counted tardy. Tardiness as absences
will be handled according to theprocedures in the student handbook.
All performances are required.Excused absences will be determined
by the director. The performances willbe scheduled far in advance,
so two weeks Written Notice by the Parentswill be required to
provide an alternative assignment for the performancegrade. The
following will not be accepted: phone calls, voicemails, e-mails,
orword of mouth.
