1 Salisbury - A Tale of Two Cities Part 1 – Talk by Andrew NegusPart one of a tale about the magnificent city of Salisbury. Friday 5th, 9.00am 2 Geology Field Trip to The Fleet Friends Only Event

Enjoy another day out along a section of our amazing Jurassic Coast, with Alan Holiday, Geologist and former teacher. The day is centred on the Fleet with its unique geological history and its myriad of fossils (no guarantees though!). Starting from Ferrybridge and moving towards Langton Herring, there will be approx. 3 miles of mostly flat walking during the day. Please bring a packed lunch with enough food and drink for the day and wear sensible shoes and clothing – wellies might be the most suitable. Wednesday 24th, 7pm4 AGM and Domestic Life at Druce Roman Villa - Talk by Lilian Ladle MBE

Three large Roman buildings at Druce Farm, near Puddletown, were occupied for five centuries. The families, servants and slaves who lived there left a great deal of information about their lives and lifestyles, which can be traced not only in the buildings but in the numerous finds resulting from excavations over the last four years. Lilian Ladle, Director of the Druce Farm Project, will interpret those discoveries.Tickets: This is a free event, but booking is essential

Tuesday 13th, 11am7 Kingfisher Barn Visit Friends Only Event

Come and explore the River Stour north of Bournemouth, discovering a landscape pre-dating the development of the resort, when most life was centred along the river.

There may be otters and kingfishers, see the Mill and hear stories about the local history of the area including dogs, smuggling, shooting and lots more.Tickets: £7 Meet: Details on ticket

Monday 19th, 10.30am8 Visit to Twyford Water Works Friends Only Event

Twyford Waterworks (a Scheduled Ancient Monument) is the most complete surviving country waterworks in England.

The site is owned by Southern Water and is still operational, providing drinking water from wells in the Hampshire Chalk to the inhabitants of the Itchen valley, as it has done for over a century. Enjoy a tour of the older parts of the site which are looked after by Twyford Waterworks Trust.

Talk by Paul SticklerPaul Stickler, a retired Police Officer with Hampshire Constabulary, with a keen interest in historical murders, returns by popular demand to retell another mystery…

In January 1931, having been fooled into a false appointment, Julia Wallace’s husband returned home to find his wife bludgeoned to death. Robin Clarke, Physicist and an expert in ‘Paper’ will explore 2000 years of its history and development across three continents to papermaking as it is today. Thursday 27th, 10am12 A Walk through the Puddles

An eight mile walk across some of Dorset’s rural heaths and woodland, before following the Piddle valley to visit the delightful villages of Affpuddle and Briantspuddle. Our route does not have any challenging hills.

13 Dads Army Fact & Fiction - Talk by Steve RobertsAn affectionate look at both the Home Guard and its portrayal in the TV series Dad’s Army. Why was the Home Guard formed and what did it do? The TV series created memorable characters and catchphrases and is still loved today, but the real Home Guard lost over 1,600 members, killed on duty, during its lifetime, with two of its number posthumously receiving the George Cross. Wednesday 16th, 8.30am 14 Coach trip to Oxfordshire Friends Only Event

Join us on a coach trip to Oxfordshire where we have the chance to view two impressive and charming stately homes of similar age and style. Starting at Kingston Bagpuize House, which dates from the 1660’s, this beautiful manor house which was remodelled in the 1720’s has a cantilevered staircase and fine panelled rooms. Lunch will be in Abingdon with some free time to wander around the lovely town. After lunch we visit Milton Manor House, designed by Inigo Jones, and which has had the same family live there for over 250 years. Thursday 24th, 10am15 The Chardown Hill, Whitchurch Canonicorum & Char Valley Walk

Join us on a seven mile coastal walk and pilgrimage to the shrine of Saint Wite. With wonderful views of Lyme Regis, Golden Cap and Charmouth in rolling Dorset countryside. Take a course to improve your French conversation or Writing skills; learn about Famous Artists or Holiday Spanish, Computing and iPads or even Tapestry….

There is something for everyone! There are heritage events throughout the whole year, with guided walks, talks or visits to interesting and unusual places - even minibus tours too.

The house itself is a beautiful historic building with elegant rooms for hire which are light and airy - the perfect place for training or meetings.
