Get ahead by getting involved in your community with Community Champions.
Community Champions enables you to learn new skills and gain an accreditation, all while making a positive difference to your community.
Course workshops cover skills in: IT, team building, communication and confidence in work situations such as interviews and public speaking. Participants use this training to then conduct a community project, after which they receive the National Open College Network level one award and ongoing support to find a job. Local courses usually run three days a week over six weeks.

at the beginning of the course, I relied on others to a great
extent and did not have confidence in my own abilities. But over the weeks, my confidence has grown and I realise I can work in a team and have good leadership skills, which will all help me in the workplace. - alison

I quickly found out from my first visit that I would get more focused, one-to-one support here…
The staff at the Hub called me in to prepare for my interviews and they were really thorough, covering everything that might be asked, giving me confidence. The fact that the Hub works closely with employers like london City airport meant that they were able to negotiate on my behalf, to be flexible with my hours, which in the end helps me a lot when it comes to making sure my mother is still cared for. - asia, Newham Workplace Hub .
