Easter in April• Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in

relation to the civil calendar. It occurs during the spring, in and around the month of April. Easter is always celebrated on the first Monday following the first full moon that appears on or after the spring equinox.

• The first week of the Easter Season is known as Easter Week or the Octave of Easter.

• The week from Palm Sunday to Easter is known as Holy Week.

Celebrate

• We celebrate Easter on Sunday and Monday after the first spring full moon. On Monday morning, boys go around with a rod woven

out of willow branches to spank girls.• When a boy comes to beat a girl after 12 p.m., the girl pours cold water over him and she doesn't give any eggs to him.
