WELCOME

He is risen! Happy Easter! I’m so glad you’re choosing to worship with others this morning. I want to encourage you to follow this brief worship guide. I pray these elements of a normal service will tie you to the truth that we find in the Scriptures: that Jesus is risen indeed.

EMB exists for the glory of God. We believe that we are made expressly to be in a relationship with Him and to recognize Jesus of Nazareth as our Lord and Savior. You are taking time this morning to bring God glory through singing and praying together, hearing His Word preached, loving Him, and loving one another.

Even through uncertain days, you are prayed for and God’s true. And in God’s grace, we are reminded this day of His love for us through the Son’s death and resurrection. He is risen, indeed.

Your pastor, Asher Griffin

PRAYER 1

Almighty God, By the Passover of your Son, Christ our Risen Lord, you have brought us out of sin and into

righteousness; out of death into life. We pray that you will grant to those who are sealed by your Holy Spirit the will and the power to rejoice in Your finished work and that all may come to know your Son, our Savior. Guide us now as we worship You in spirit and truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

SCRIPTURE READING

Jude 24–25 (ESV) 24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE CHURCH

Our heavenly Father, We confess to you that we are too often captivated by our idols than we are of you. You are glorious

in all of your ways. Your will is perfect. And your love toward us is complete in the life and work of Christ Jesus, your Son. It’s in His name and power that we life supplications to you. Together we pray: • For church families and others who are infected by COVID-19, give them healing; • For our church’s healthcare workers who are at risk on a regular basis, give them strength; • For our Deacons as they care for the physical needs of our church, give them insight; • For our Finance & Facility Team in their care over our church’s finances, give them wisdom; • For Your Spirit’s guidance in pushing us to build one another up in the faith; • For Your Spirit to enable us to remain steadfast in prayer for God’s glory in all our ways. • For those that are suffering from job layoffs, business troubles, and financial problems, provide

for them, Lord. • For us to have a heart that is quick to serve and eager to share with those those in need; • For the COVID-19 pandemic to cease quickly; • And for Multiply’s laborer’s efforts in Arabic-speaking regions to be able to broadcast Your

gospel in North Africa and throughout the Middle East. We pray these things to You acknowledging that we can do nothing on our own, but need you in all

of these supplications. Our Lord, align our heart with Your heart. Make Your way known to us. Carry out Your will, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

READING OF THE NICENE CREED

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

Amen.

O Praise the Name

I cast my mind to Calvary Where Jesus bled and died for me I see His wounds, His hands, His feet My Savior on that cursed tree

His body bound and drenched in tears They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb The entrance sealed by heavy stone Messiah still and all alone

O praise the name of the Lord our God O praise His name forever more For endless days we will sing Your praise Oh Lord, oh Lord our God

Then on the third at break of dawn The Son of heaven rose again O trampled death where is your sting? The angels roar for Christ the King

O praise the name of the Lord our God O praise His name forever more For endless days we will sing Your praise Oh Lord, oh Lord our God

He shall return in robes of white The blazing Son shall pierce the night And I will rise among the saints My gaze transfixed on Jesus’ face

O praise the name of the Lord our God O praise His name forever more For endless days we will sing Your praise Oh Lord, oh Lord our God

SCRIPTURE READING

Luke 24:1–7 (ESV) 1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”

Forever

The moon and stars they wept The morning sun was dead The Savior of the world was fallen His body on the cross His blood poured out for us The weight of every curse upon him

One final breath He gave As Heaven looked away The Son of God was laid in darkness A battle in the grave The war on death was waged The power of hell forever broken

The ground began to shake The stone was rolled away His perfect love could not be overcome Now death where is your sting Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated

Forever, He is glorified Forever, He is lifted high Forever, He is risen He is alive, He is alive

We sing Hallelujah We sing Hallelujah We sing Hallelujah The Lamb has overcome (Repeat 4x)

Forever, He is glorified Forever, He is lifted high Forever, He is risen He is alive, He is alive
