Letter of Notification: Part Number Transfer of easYgen-3000

The easYgen-3000 control units are very important products to Woodward. Due to continuous product improvement processes, Woodward has created a new easYgen-3000 release with improved features.

The new easYgen-3000 base on a new hardware with several improvements, hence they are offered with new item numbers. Since we have created new part numbers for the new control units, the current part numbers will become inactive. With this announcement we would like to inform, that all order entries later than 13-Aug-2010 for easYgen-3000 will be shipped with the new item numbers The new Part Numbers are already available for sales as well. The current numbers will be replaced by the new numbers as followed in Table 1. The corresponding Remote Panels are listed under Table 2.

We would like to ask you to update your material master file and change the item numbers accordingly.

In case you intent to run a new easYgen-3000 in an application with more than ten (10) existing current easYgen-3000 control units (CAN connected network for load share applications) please contact your local sales or technical Support for proper implementation.

The new easYgen-3000 control units provide among others the following changes and advantages:

• New option to operate an asynchronous generator by using MPU input for speed sensing • The easYgen-3000 can initiate active calls to any connected modem • New measuring mode for „3ph/4w open delta“ PT configuration • Synchronization of the system time via CANopen in a CAN connected easYgen-3000

environment • The power supply can now resist a voltage of 80Vdc for 2 minutes • Implementation of the „cranking wave form“ to grant availability of the control in case of

voltage drops down to 4,5V for 50msec during engine start up cycle.

More details are listed in the appendix. Final details are to be found in the corresponding manuals.

Woodward offers the following “Last Time Buy” scenario:

Orders of the current part numbers will be accepted (Last Time Buy stop) until 13-Aug-2010.

• Woodward will accept orders until this date. We ask our customers to make preparations to change to the new part numbers listed in Table1 and 2.

• Stop of production and last shipment of new orders for the current part numbers is

scheduled to 1-Oct-2010.

After production support statement :

• Depending on components availability for repairs either the same number or a new part number will be returned. This will be a full functional one-to-one replacement.
