Objective

• ACS-fed antenna with EBG is proposed to covers the ultra wide band from 2-10Ghz

• The possibility to reduce the dimensions of antenna size

• Reduce the mutual coupling near by integrated antennas

• Also designing the UWB antenna can reflect the interference from the other existing bands.

Literature survey

• To take the tutorial overview of EBG and ACS

• Survey extended to different types of EBG like

• slotted E shape• a mirror-L shaped branch• mushroom EBG

Page 5: EBG Antenna 1

• The antenna is composed of a simple monopole structure with a mirror-L shaped branch and two rectangular radiating strips

• has a very small size of 13.75 × 26mm2 including the ground plane.

Proposing work

• The ACS antennas to suppress the surface waves between two transmit-receive antennas with small separation

• surface waves would extract power from the total available power for direct radiation degrades

the antenna radiation propertiespolarization characteristics

• This is called the mutual coupling

Conclusion

• EBG structure have the ability of suppressing surface wave propagation

• Micro strip antennas integrated with EBG will suppress the mutual coupling

• By using mushroom like EBG structure to decrease the mutual coupling between two ACS fed antennas
