Welcome to the Season 2 ECA choices. Season 1 has been extended by 1

week, so Season 2 will start on Monday 17th November. Please find in the

following pages all the choices available for the new ECA season. If you

wish to participate in competitive sport and represent the College please

sign up for any ECA which has ACSIS by it. This means there will be

competitive fixtures in this season for the stated sport.

Many of the activities available during the first season are still available

some of them have had to change. Please look through the following pages

and make your selections via the link found on the school web site or in the

parents’ portal. All students will be notified through tutor groups, so please

ask tutors which activity students have been selected for. The ECAs for

Season 2 will start on Monday November 17th. If any changes are required

for the ECA late buses please contact the bus company directly.

Please note now the Sports Hall is operational all ECAs will run regardless

of the weather and haze conditions.

Once you’ve read the following pages please follow the step-by-step guide

found at the end of this document.

This club is for boys and girls in Years 5 to 8, who have an interest in basketball. Basketball is a very popular sport amongst the students and this is your chance to learn more about this sport and develop your knowledge of the game.

For those that enjoy their tennis, we are providing a professional tennis coach to help improve your game and prepare you for competitive matches for Dulwich College Singapore. We will have competitive fixtures in Season 3 in the ACSIS league so we will be preparing this squad during this ECA to give us the best chance of succeeding. There may be a few friendly fixtures as the season progresses. This ECA will occur at Warren Country Club. Dulwich College (Singapore) will take you to the club but you will need to be picked up at 17:30. The cost for this ECA is $360 for the season. If you want to play competitive tennis for Dulwich please think about signing up for this ECA.

Description

This club is open to all students who would like to learn the basic fundamentals of playing golf. Heartland Golf professionals will come into the College to deliver fun stimulating sessions introducing students to the basic principles of golf. If students can develop these key skills at a young age they are likely to develop a life long interest in this sport. Sessions will cost $300 for the season, payable on the first session. This activity will happen on the small astro on top of the sports hall and move inside in the event of bad weather.

Another Major Game of Dulwich College London, cricket will be a major focus of our co-curricular provision. This club is available to any boys who have an interest in cricket and it would help if they had some previous experience. Fixtures will occur later in the school year. If students have their own equipment they can bring it in otherwise it will be provided. Students will have to make their own arrangements for arriving at the school for a 7.15am start and should bring a packed breakfast. If you want to play cricket and try to master this technical sport this is the ECA for you.

Brownies will learn new hobbies, explore new cultures, do arts and crafts, play games and make new friends. They will work towards a variety of interest badges. Girls will be encouraged to take part in island-wide events, including the Thinking Day service and an overnight camp. Brownies is a yearlong commitment and sessions last for 1.5 hours (girls who need to take the ECA bus will have to leave early). Brownies is normally charged at $220 per calendar year, payable in equal instalments of $110 in January and September. As we are starting in November there will be a small charge of $35 to cover the period to Xmas. Thereafter payments will be due in January and September for as long as your daughter continues Brownies. This will cover materials, insurance and subscriptions payable to BGIFC.
