Stavanger, Norway as host for European Controllers Golf
Championship
We are delighted to welcome Controllers from all over Europe to
Norway and Stavanger to the European Controllers Championship
in
Golf 2021.
Stavanger was founded on the North Sea Coast in the early 12th
Century. We are the energy capital of Europe and recognized as
a
Smart City through the European Project Triangulum within
Horizon 2020. The city and its’ surrounding region are not only
known for
the agriculture, oil and gas activities and Smart city solutions
and innovation. Stavanger was European Capital of Culture in 2008
and
recognized for the many festivals and events throughout the
year. Not to mention the arts, such as the International Chamber
Music
Festival and Maijazz, to the more modern heavy metal community,
the urban Utopia, and the renowned NuArt StreetArt festival.
Within
sports, the Hammer Stavanger cycling race, the Blink Ski
Festival, the North Sea Cycle Race and Norway Chess put Stavanger
on
the global map. In 2020, the biannual energy convention, fair
and exhibition ONS – Offshore Northern Seas, will be hosted again
in
Stavanger. It is one of the world’s largest energy events and
has attracted at it’s peak more than 92.000 visitors.
Stavanger Golf Club was founded in 1956 and is one of Norway´s
oldest clubs. Located only 5 km from the city of Stavanger and lies
in quit
surroundings near the lake Store Stokkavatn. Stavanger Golf Club
presents a true test of golf that will suit golfers of all levels.
With 1700 members
we have members in all ages and strive to be a club that will
help grow this fantastic game. Stavanger have hosted the Norwegian
Championships
more than 20 times, latest in 2019. Sola GK is a 26 year old
course, and have also been the venue for the Norwegian
Championship. Located about
10 km from the city. We welcome you to Stavanger and we hope the
European Controllers Golf Championship in 2021 will be a success
for the
international controllers community.
