Awards (A) The ECNP Eli Lilly Awards The information leaflets about the ECNP Eli Lilly Awards for distinguished research in the fields of clinical and pre-clinical neuropsychopharmacology has been sent out to all members. If you have not received your copy, please contact the ECNP Secretariat, Stationsvej 11, Tap- drup, DK-8800 Viborg, Denmark. (B) The ECNP Fellowship Award The ECNP Fellowship Award has been established to partially support the attendance of young scientists at ECNP meetings. It will be awarded to individuals fully committed to either basic research, clinical or teaching activities in the field of neuropsychopharmacology and closely related disciplines. The grant should cover at least partially the expenses for one economy air fare from the airport in the European country where the awardee is working to the place of the ECNP meeting, one full meet- ing registration and three nights accommodation. A com- memorative certificate will also be given to each awardee. To qualify for a Fellowship Award, the individual must: (a) have a doctorate degree, (b) not have reached her/his 38th birthday in the year of the meeting at which the award will be given, (c) be engaged full-time in clinical or basic research, training or teaching activities in neuropsychophar- macology or closely related disciplines (e.g., neurobio- chemistry, neurophysiology). The Award Scheme is open to all individuals within Europe. The nominations must be sent to the Fellowship Award Committee of the ECNP. Applications should include: (a) the nominee's curriculum vitae, including list of publications and 2-3 reprints of the most import- ant papers, (b) a summary (500 words) of the nominee's current work stating also the reason for the application. The application should be addressed to: Professor C.G. Gottfries M61ndal Hospital S-431 80 M61ndal Sweden. 3. ECNP Congress 1993, Budapest, 10-14 October The preparations for this congress are in progress. After some new considerations it has been decided to use the Pest Vigad6 cultural centre as the site of the congress. The Vigad6 is situated in the city overlooking the Danube, and only a few steps from the Atrium Hyatt and Forum hotels. The organizers of the meeting would be grateful to receive, as soon as possible, suggestions for symposia, lectures, posters, and workshops from ECNP members. Please send your suggestions to: Professor Peter Gaszner Hfiv6sv61gyi fit. 116 H-1021 Budapest Hungary. The First Announcement of this meeting will be mailed to the members in mid-1992. 4. ECNP Congress 1994, Jerusalem The Executive Committee has accepted the proposal of Professor Y. Zohar to organize the 1994 ECNP con- gress in Israel. The venue will be Jerusalem. More infor- mation about this congress will be available soon.

5. ECNP Congress 1995, Venice In 1995, the ECNP congress will be organized by Pro-

fessor Giorgio Racagni and Nicoletta Brunello. The con- gress will be held in Venice, Italy, 1-5 October, 1995. Information can be obtained from:

6. European Neuropsychopharmacology At the General Meeting of Members in October 1991

it was discussed whether a merger of the ACNP and ECNP journals should be negotiated under the condition

that the College's interests were protected. These recom- mendations were followed and the negotiations have now come to a standstill and will not be resumed within the near future.

7. Election of new Executive Committee In October 1992 a part of the present ECNP Executive

Committee members will resign and be replaced by others. The Nominating Committee's suggestion for a new Executive Committee will be circulated to the mem- bers.

8. General Meeting of Members A General Meeting of Members will be held during the

annual ECNP meeting in Marbella, October 1992. Con- cerning the process of and proceedings at this meeting, the members are referred to the Constitution and Bye- laws of the ECNP.
