In the beautiful setting of the Tuscan hills near Florence, Mugello and other natural attractions, this eco-hotel stands out for its perfect integration with the surrounding environment. TECHNICAL DETAILSLOCATION

At the gates of Florence, equipped of tool booth and with connections with Tuscan main town and Prato, Calenzano preserves near the industrial area tracks of its past in a hill landscape between the slopes of the Calvana and woods of Monte Morello. A landscape rich of woods and olive groves, punctuates with historic villas, ancient parishes, castles, medieval and Renaissance towers.

In the past, this area has been contested by Ligurian and Etruscan and today tracks of Roman settlements are clearly visible yet through the roads that from the colony of Florentia took towards Lucca, Pistoia and the Gallia Cisalpina. In the dark ages, on which that remained of the Roman building the parishes rose. Near the parishes, beginning from the end of the XIth century, castles and towers rose, symbols of a new aggressive aristocracy: the Calenzano’s Castle, in particular, was one of the hinge of the Florentine defence of its rural area and was the centre of a system of towers and fortifications that protected the territory.
