Overview

ECo Living @ South West is a year-long c ommunity g rassroots

prog ramm e he ld in conjunc tion with Hong Kah North zone 6 ResidentsCommittee a nd ITE Co llege West. It a ims to relief the b urden o f low /

middle-income families while doing our bit for the Earth. Energy, water

and waste audits in HDB households are performed by volunteers in

order to identify area s for imp roveme nt.

A representa tive from ECO Singa pore a rrived a t 8 am to p rep are

the nec essa ry log istics a t the RC Hong Kah North zone 6.

The first ITE students a rrived a t 8:45am. In tota l, 12 students turned up fo r

the energy aud it of ECo Living @ South West. They were jo ined by

another 6 RC m embers and an externa l volunteer.

Onc e the volunteers we re c lea r on their tasks they w ere to ld to d ivide

in g roup s, with a va riety of lang uage skills in eac h g roup . We had

pre-allocated the households to groups of volunteers.

At 9.30pm , the vo lunteers c ollec ted the ir logistics. Eac h g roup wo uld

get a reusable bag containing the resident info sheet, a clipboard and

the a udit sheet .
