Introducing the cost-effective, fast and labor-efficient insulation solution to support the Title 24 Option B High- Performance Ventilated Attic code requirements. New code requirements offer insulation options for “unconditioned” spaces—where HVAC systems and water heaters are often placed in states where basements are not standard. The new Knauf EcoBatt® Integrated Roof Deck (IRD) insulation solution is an economical way to support the Title 24 Option B High-Performance Ventilated Attic Prescriptive Method code requirements. Its unique installation process saves time and money on projects, and requires no specialty equipment. It results in a clean finish that envelops truss chords, creating a thermal break.

EcoBatt Thermal/Acoustical InsulationEcoBatt Insulation is the proven insulation solution preferred by professional installers. Plus, when installed in ceiling and floor systems, it reduces sound transmission in the home.

A minimum R-value of insulation installed between the roof rafters in contact with the roof deck and an additional layer of ceiling insulation located between the attic and the conditioned space. The EcoBatt IRD system applies to California's climate zones 4 and 8–16.

Microbial Growth (ASTM C1338)

• Does not support microbial growth

Glass Mineral Wool and MoldGlass mineral wool insulation will not sustain mold growth. However, mold can grow on almost any material when it becomes wet and contaminated. Carefully inspect any insulation that has been exposed to water. If it shows any sign of mold, it must be discarded. If the material is wet, but shows no evidence of mold, it should be dried rapidly and thoroughly. If it shows signs of facing degradation from wetting, it should be replaced.
