It is drawn up every year to plan how much money the government expects to earn during the year, and how they plan to spend their money. The government uses the national budget to try and achieve its goal, in particular to influence economic growth and to even out economic inequalities in the country. The government provides social grants to those citizens who are unable to support themselves. The government‟s fiscal year runs from 1 April of one year to 31 March of the next year. The budget is presented in parliament by the Minister of Finance in February every year.
