EduN x t platform has been launched by the Sikkim Manipal University in order to bring to
the students the convenience of the new generation education at their door-steps. The
portal is itself a store-house of innumerable resources for helping the students right from
the aspect of examination preparation towards the enhancement of the employability
skills. The EduN x t portal takes help of the new generation information andcommunication technology in order to give the students the feel of campus education in
an online medium and to replicate the campus experience. It is an online medium which
the students can access 24 hours a day and can prepare for the examinations and also can
enhance their skill levels.

This manual will give a brief overview on how to access EduN x t portal. This manual will
give light on the richness of the EduN x t portal and will introduce the different section of
the portal to the users so that they can use the portal effectively in order to prepare for
the examination. It also introduces different resources available in the EduN x t portal
which the students can use for their examination preparation and also for enhancing theirknowledge. This manual discusses in details about different aspects of the portal right
from logging into the portal.
EduN x t is the portal for the next generation education. The varied resources available in
the portal are true testimony of its richness. There is enough scope of self-assessment in
the portal which gives the students the opportunity to test their understanding level.
There is enough scope in the portal for interaction among the students or between the
students and Sikkim Manipal University faculty members to clarify the doubts. The
students can see their peers and can make direct communication among themselveswhich gives them the feel of a larger campus environment. The students can get their
queries resolved in short time in the online medium which gives the students the
opportunity of undergoing quality and effective education in the convenience of their
home. The EduN x t portal is a virtual campus which the students can feel every time they
log into it and can log out gaining immense subject-related and practical knowledge from
the variety of resources present in the portal.

Section 1 Logging into the EduN x t Portal
The EduN x t Portal URL is http://edunxtmba.smude.edu.in . Please type the mentioned URL
in the internet browser address and the Login page will appear. In the Login page you
need to enter your Login Credentials after which you will be able to enter the website.
You will receive the Login Credentials from the University through e-mail or any other
mode shortly after completing all formalities to join the program.
Please enter the credentials in respective fields in order to login into the EduN x t portal.

If you forget your password, then you can request your password by mentioning your user
id or the e-mail address you have given at the time of your admission in the university.
Your revised password will be sent to your registered e-mail address.

How to enter a particular course in the EduN x t Portal?
There are several ways to enter a course in the EduN x t Portal.
Way 1 – After entering the Homepage/Dashboard, click on the My Program link.

Section 7 Attempting the Quiz
In the section 6, you have gone through the Course Book of a particular course. The
Practice section of the Course Book has also been introduced to you in the section. You
have to click a quiz in the unit for attempting and it will be opened.

A profile is the introduction page of a user. The other users come to know about the user
viewing the profile page only.

Section 9 Attending Mentor Chat Session in OnSync
Platform
What is OnSync Session?
The OnSync is a platform where the faculty members can make course delivery in
synchronous manner with more interactivity and ease. It is a platform where –
The students can view and hear the lecture of the faculty live
The students can see the presentations shown by the faculty member
The students can ask any query through chat and the faculty answer the query
orally showing more presentation if needed
The faculty can share his desktop to the students to let them understand any
particular topic by live demonstration
This is much better platform for course delivery in an online medium because –
It is possible in the new platform to view and hear faculty’s lecture
Faculty need not go for typing his answers in Chat Window and can orally give the
answers showing presentations if needed
He can share files to describe complex problems having mathematical equations
The mode of delivery will also be fast and the faculty can describe a topic through
the medium just like he/she is able to do it in a class-room The sessions will be much more interactive
Technical Specifications Needed for attending OnSync Mentoring Session
The student should have a desktop or a laptop.
User system (Desktop/Laptop) should have the following configuration and
accessories –
o 256 KBPS Minimum Internet Connection
o Headphone or speaker
o Facility for Power-backup (UPS)
User system should have the following Softwares installed –
o Operating System – Windows XP Minimum (Windows 7.0 recommended)
o Internet Explorer 6.0 minimum with Adobe Flash Player installed
o Microsoft Office XP/ 2003 Minimum (Microsoft Office 2007 recommended)
o Adobe Reader 8.0 Minimum
o Windows Media Player

The users will get a link for entering the OnSync session in the EduN x t portal. The user
needs to click the link and he will be transferred to the OnSync platform for attending the
chat session. He/she will be given a user id and password and using that he/she needs to
login the portal. After logging in, he will be directed to the session immediately and he can
attend the lecture of the faculty mentor and ask him/her the doubts.

Eg:- here ,in the participant list the user ID is shown as 5210789 and you can change the
name from 5210789 to < 5210789- (your name)> so that the faculty can make out your
