2017 has been non-stop here at Edale HQ, but it doesn’t stop here! We have another busy year ahead of us in 2018, but what’s been going on so far?

Our 2017 aim was to Innovate, not complicate. You may have seen our ‘Did You Know’ campaign on Edale Full Automation (including AiiR), the development of our hybrid install base and how flexo carton production has proven itself in times where simplicity and future-proofing are essential when investing in new machinery.

In September, we had our biggest and best presence to date at Labelexpo Europe. Visitors flocked to the Edale stand to watch our fully automated FL3 Graphium in action, along with the EFX Print Bar finishing solution.

Worldwide, we’ve installed and secured sales in Europe, Asia, Africa and the U.S.A. Customer feedback showed Edale to be the first choice manufacturer of high quality, innovative press solutions over other leading industry suppliers.

It’s now onwards and upwards here at Edale. With more international interest than ever, we’ve again expanded our global sales network and have even launched a brand new website. We hope you enjoy our 2017 newsletter and wish you all a fantastic 2018.

Hello, and welcome to our end of Year Newsletter!

Once every two years, Labelexpo Europe calls for visitors from all over the world to get up close and personal with the machinery and people behind the big brands. Held in Brussels, Belgium; the event is one of the largest industry trade shows on the continent.

The star of the Edale booth was ultimately our demonstration machine; a fully automated 6 colour FL3 with an additional 6 colour Graphium unit (FL3 Graphium). As one of the most automated presses in the industry, the FL3 Graphium boasted automated semi rotary, autoset back and sheer slitting and Autonomous inking, Impression and Registration (AiiR).

Further digital embellishments were added with the EFX Print Bar for digital foil, digital white and high build varnish. Our twice-daily demonstrations highlighted the ease of use and low-operator input involved in producing high quality labels, quickly and efficently.

Our other stand highlight was the new addition of a ‘shop corner’ which displayed some of our recent samples, such as cosmetics packets, light carton containers and beverage labels (including personalised beer labels) which were produced using the features of the show press.

Imprimerie Ideale purchase Edale FL5-510 to boost their position in the carton packaging market.

After being impressed with Edale’s innovation, automation and print quality, Ideale (a leading printing converter for the Moroccan/African market) purchased an 8 colour, full UV, Edale FL5 Carton with an FDC-510 flatbed die-cutter.

The press will be used primarily for the production of folding cartons, with the vision to enhance capabilities of printing within the food, beverage and cosmetics industries.

Following Labelexpo Europe 2017, Edale announced HKM Sp. Z.O.O. as official distributor for the Polish market. Simon Cosh, Edale Sales Manager for the region commented:

‘HKM understand the market and importantly, how Edale’s portfolio of products can help their customers gain market share and create new opportunities.’

HKM Sp. Z.0.0. was founded in 1998, offering wide range of services to the flexographic print industry. They started with pre-owned machinery, but with the growing needs of the Polish market they started to look for a reliable and innovative partner of new, high-end printing equipment to fulfil these needs.

Grzegorz Kaminski, Owner of HKM Sp. Z.o.o. said:‘We were looking for a press manufacturer that would meet the quality and performance requirements of our Polish customers. That is why we started our cooperation with Edale and feedback from our customers has only proven it was the right decison.

Edale have installed numerous presses in Poland and can provide bespoke print and packaging solutions to customers all around the world.

Sales Summary 2017“2017 has turned into a year of firsts and change for the Sales department at Edale.

Starting with a new Sales team, Edale officially launched in America with the appointment of Matik as our representative covering North America, Canada and Mexico. Later, Edale appointed Afra to cover Middle Eastern and African markets. These changes have certainly brought benefits with a strong year of sales.

Our first FL3’s were sold in North America, one of which was our most automated press to date which included automation of both the print and finishing operations. In Africa we sold an FL5 with Flat Bed Die-cutter for single pass carton production (the first machine if its kind in Morocco).

The Indian market also had its first FL3 (bought by Uflex, a large multi-national company). Sales of the FL3 Graphium Hybrid continued to flourish with the help of the

distribution channel of Fujifilm North America - including the world’slargest Hybrid press, sold to one of the worlds largest flexible film suppliers.

Edale wowed at Labelexpo Europe with a fully automated FL3 Graphium hybrid press and newly launched EFX digital bar. This was undoubtedly the most sophisticated narrow web press at the show and underlined the innovative nature of Edale and its quest to lead the industry in technology.

2017 ends with a strong sales pipeline which will result in continued growth in 2018 and beyond. Exciting times for the sales team and our customers.”

Edale.com gets a new look!

Our machinery reduces user input and now our website does too! 2017 has been the year of innovative, fresh ideas, so in September we announced the long-awaited upgrade of the company website.

The reimagined and easy-to-navigate site represents Edale as the modern and trending brand that we are. The design boasts a sleek look and faster page load speeds, with easy access information and quick methods of contact, further enhancing our goal to implement simplicity.

Although it’s still early days for the site we have seen a significant increase in user traffic and following our test launch at Labelexpo 2017 (and official launch shortly after) we have received a lot of positive response about the style and user-friendliness.

The full site is open to view now at www.edale.com and can be easily accessed via computers, tablets and other devices.

Amberley Labels purchase FL3

UK label printers Amberley have invested in an 8 colour Edale FL3 with AiiR, Semi-Rotary Die Cutting and a cross over module.

Based in Dorset UK, Amberley have established a reputation as one of the UK’s premier label production companies and have developed packaging for an extensive range of sectors including cosmetics, personal care, healthcare, beverage and specialist food markets.

When asked why Edale was their chosen supplier, Trevor Smith (Amberley’s Managing Director) stated: “Edale offer the best combination of suitable technology, a knowledgeable team and synergy with Amberley’s requirements. We plan to produce multi-colour labels on specialist materials, such as multi-layer material labels.

Amberley will also benefit from automated finishing with semi-rotary die cutting which serves to reduce set-up times and waste, while reducing tooling cost and further reliance on the operator.

Simon Cosh Sales Manager (UK/Ireland/Europe)

Our newest member of the Sales team, Simon Cosh, joined Edale at the beginning of 2017.

With over 25 years of technical experience in an array of print environments, he started his career in print as a Pre-Press Technician in the British Army.

Simon has worked in various technical roles since, primarily in business development, selling Offset, Flexo and Digital print solutions.

Ryan is a professional in customer service management and has recently joined the team as Aftersales Manager.

With a strong background in engineering, he has developed his management skills in the UK and Asia/Pacific regions.

Ryan has much experience in post-sales services for electrical and and planning systems, delivering high end enhancement and maintenence of aftermarket programs.
