The 22-year-old dated Jake Gyllenhaal two years ago, and on her latest album, Red, waxes philosophical about their relationship on the track “All Too Well,” an insider confirms to Us Weekly.

Calling Red her most “adventurous album yet,” Swift told Good Morning America the writing process for “All Too Well” was a tedious one. “’All Too Well’ was the hardest to write because it took me a long time to filter through everything I wanted to say,” she admitted. “It started out being a 10-minute song, which you can’t put on an album. I had to filter it down to a story that could work in the form of a song.”

In the track, Swift reflects on her 2010 Thanksgiving outing with Gyllenhaal, 31, opening about spending the holiday at his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal’s home in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Swift even sings about a mysterious black and white striped scarf both she and Gyllenhaall wore during their courtship. “Left my scarf there at your sister’s house / And you still got it in your drawer,” Swift’s lyrics read. While the ode is indeed about Gyllenhaal, a scarf thief he may not be. Consider: The knit in question could, in fact, be his! Both were snapped wearing the wrap, but he stepped out in it first on Nov. 11 and 15, long before Swift donned it for their Thanksgiving stroll in Brooklyn.

Writing songs about her failed ro-mances has become a pre-ferred pastime for Swift, who was dumped by Gyllenhaal around Christmas in 2010 -- via a phone call. “It’s safe for her and it’s something she loves,” explains a source of Swift penning the tracks. “She goes back to it because it’s something she’s good at -- and she’s not good at love.”

Since Robert Pattinson accepted Kristen Stewart’s apologies for her July infidelity, the pair have found themselves on more equal, if sometimes unsteady, footing. Her groveling campaign, which a friend says she extended to his family, paid off. Alas, trust remains an issue.

“He’s never going to forget what she did, but he has forgiven her,” a confidant, who insisted the Brit, 26, and the L.A. native, 22, aren’t good enough actors to fake it for their Twilight press tour, told Us Weekly. “Almost losing him was a wake-up call for Kristen. And Rob doesn’t want to be angry anymore. They want to move forward.”

Not that it’s been an easy road. With Stewart still on relationship probation, “there are good days and bad days,” said a pal. “She still feels guilty.”

The couple is currently on a whirlwind tour for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 promotions. Stewart and Pattinson have already walked the red carpets of the Los Angeles and London premieres this week, with Madrid and Berlin up next.

A cast source on the tour maintained, “They’re comfortable, almost as if no scandal had occurred.” Almost, said a production insider: “She still thinks the world hates her. It’s hard to resume a relationship after something like that.”

EvEry Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc.

The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is con-sidered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion.

The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines.

In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbul-umbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Mangupura (Bali Post)—Pererenan Beach in Mengwi

subdistrict has long drawn the interest of the world professional

Observation in the field on Saturday showed that people thronged the bathing pool with clear water located nearby the beach. Most visitors brought along their families for the pic-nic to Air Sanih. Other than civil servants and private employees, the lineups of pupil and student also traveled to Air Sanih. Such crowded visit was inseparable from the admission rates to the tourist attraction that was set at relatively affordable compared to other tourist attractions.

One of the visitors, Agus Wahyu, said that he deliberately paid a visit to Air Sanih bathing place with his friends. Coincid-ing with the joint leave and nothing to do, he then decided to

travel to Air Sanih. “As coincid-ing with the holiday, we choose to have a promenade to Tejakula. On the way home, we are bath-ing at Air Sanih,” he said.

Similar comment was ex-pressed by Made Adnyana, another visitor. This local tourist from Tabanan came to Air Sanih with his family. For him, Air Sanih was an interesting place to visit and its admission rates were affordable namely IDR 3,000 for child and IDR 5,000 for adult. “It’s a beautiful and perfect place to bathe because the water is clear. Not less importantly, the entry ticket is cheap so that I take along my family to holiday here,” he ex-plained. (kmb)

Singaraja (Bali Post)—Air Sanih tourist attraction located at Bukti village in

Kubutambahan subdistrict was suddenly thronged by myriad visitors on Saturday (Nov 17). It happened because visitors wanted to take advantage of the joint leave for a picnic to North Bali where one of which was to Air Sanih public bathing place.

surfers. Unfortunately, so far the Pererenan Beach has not had a beach security post and beach lifeguard (Balawista). Besides,

the beach also needs a touch of further arrangement.

Headman of Pererenan, I Ketut Sukerasena, accompanied by Batu hamlet chief, IGN Riyasa, an of-ficial of the People’s Empower-ment Agency (LPM) of Pererenan, Komang Dharma Eka, and Chief of Pererenan customary village, IGN Rai Tirtayusa, said that as one of the tourist attractions, Pererenan Beach was visited by dozens of surfers from around the world every day. Seeing the high interest of tourists to enjoy surfing, his party hoped the Badung government could set a lifeguard post along with the as-signment of lifeguard personnel and its rescue equipment.

Besides, the Pererenan Beach also needed a touch of arrangement such as for the parking area, street lighting and other public facilities.

By doing so, his party expected to boost the tourist arrivals to the beach. “We’ve proposed it through development plan meeting and hope our aspirations can be realized,” said Sukerasena.

He said the current arrangement of Pererenan Beach was limited to the construction of breakwater along 170 meters equipped with pedestrian path. The funds sourced from central government grant worth IDR 4.25 billion. His party hoped another arrangement such as the construction of pathway from the beach to village area as well as the bridge to facilitate the community accessing the beach as a public space and a destination of melasti procession.

“Other than for tourism ac-tivities, a total of nine villages in Mengwi subdistrict and one

village in Abiansemal subdistrict harness the beach as destination of melasti so that we hope the coastal arrangement will pay attention to the environmental preservation and continue to support the ritual activities,” said Sukaresana.

Meanwhile, a member of Com-mission B of the Badung House, I Nyoman Satria, said the Perer-enan Beach had undergone rapid development. The beach indeed drew the interest of many tourists and investors. It was considered to have a great potential to become a leading tourist destination in Badung Regency.

“The Badung House is ready to fight and urge the Badung govern-ment to make arrangements and complete the infrastructure of Pererenan Beach as a tourist attrac-tion,” he said. (kmb25)

It was announced by hamlet chief of Gulinten, Made Raka and Deputy Headman, Wayan Dana, at Gulinten. Made Raka said that Gulinten actually had many small springs at foothills. So far, local people still had to look for water where men carried a bucket and women upheld a bucket. They looked for water on foot in the springs at the foot of the hills lo-cated quite far from the center of settlement passing through some ascending and descending tracks and took them for hours.

“The springs are located far beneath the residential areas, so that people are forced to look for the water by going down the hill,” said Raka.

Severe clean water crisis oc-curred during this dry season like the past few months. It happened because it had not rain on the Bunutan hill ranges, though the rain had once showered the town of Karangasem and surrounding areas and it even caused a flood. “At our home hamlet, namely the Suwung Hill and surrounding areas, is still dry. It has never rained here though the town was showered by

AMLAPURA - Hundreds of families of Bunutan village living on the hill ranges of Abang subdistrict, Karangasem, remain to face clean water crisis up to these days. Among others, the severe water crisis happen to the residents on the hill ranges of Gulinten hamlet, Bukit Suwung and Gigit, Bunutan.

once heavy rain,” said Ni Nengah Watayani, a resident of Bukit Su-wung, Bunutan.

According to Wayan Wirdana and Wayan Widana, one of the springs whose water sought after was located away from residential areas. The springs occurred at Yeh Capcap and Kuta right at the foothill of Gulinten. “We are the residents living on Suwung Hill and Gitgit would also like to open a road along approximately 3.5 km. Hopefully, the local government, namely the Karangasem Public Works could help lend a heavy equipment so that our mutual assistance can be easier. We hope the road will alleviate the access of students to school, public access to community health center or hospital and crops marketing,” said Wirdana.

Related to difficulties of clean water, Made Raka and Deputy Headman Wayan Dana hoped there would be a solution given by Karangasem government. Local residents were unable to suck water by water pump from the springs at the foothills to the hilltop.

As consequence, according to Made Raka, most residents of

Gulinten customary village with a total of 236 families living on the barren hills and facing clean water crisis were underdeveloped or poor. The poor reach 138 families. Some of them even did not have a habit-able house. “No poor families at our hamlet received the assistance of house refurbishment from local government and Bali government so far,” said Wayan Dana.

Wayan Raka added that due to water crisis and living on barren hills, a lot of people were poor. Local farmers did not produce maximal crops because they could only cultivate their land once a year during the rainy season. In addition, only a few areas on the top and slopes of the hill could be cultivated for farming.

Meanwhile, Watayani said that residents of Bukit Suwung and Gitgit only relied on their liveli-hood by selling palm wine during dry season. Their palm wine was sold cheaply and incomparable to their labor with the risk of en-dangering life when falling down while tapping the wine.

“People prefer to sell palm wine directly because process-

ing it into palm sugar will take higher costs. Similarly, it takes longer time to cook, needs a lot of firewood, while the results are not comparable. Other than cost-ing more expensive, processing it into arrack is also at risk of being unsold and fear to be captured by police. In the meantime, the

price of palm wine is also much cheaper than clean water. If sold to Amed or Jemeluk, it will only cost about IDR 8,000 per jerrycan which is equivalent to the content of 8 bottles or IDR 1,000 per bottle. Meanwhile, one bottle of mineral water can be sold for IDR 6,000,” said Watayani. (013)

The view of Pemuteran Beach on Buleleng Regency. Coral reef developing quite well on Pemuteran Beach, Gerokgak subdistrict is caused by the successful application of biorock technology. The technology first implemented in North Bali can stimulate the growth of coral reefs up to six times more than the growth in general.

implemented in North Bali can stimulate the growth of coral reefs up to six times more than the growth in general.

It was stated by the Head of

Buleleng Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Nyoman Sutrisna, in Singaraja.

Furthermore, Sutrisna said the coral reef on Pemuteran Beach was first cultivated with low-volt-age electricity energy of the PLN. During the passage, the electric-ity utilization gave less optimal results. Since then, the technology was replaced with biorock system. With this technology, the coral reef on Pemuteran Beach was energized with electrical energy obtained from the wave power generating low voltage. The coral reef was put on the iron plate and then discharged to the center of ocean wave energy. “Literally, if the coral reefs are shocked with wave electric, it can trigger the growth,” he said.

According to the Head of Buleleng Forestry and Maritime Affairs, Sutrisna, the biorock technology had been being im-plemented since 2001. Imple-mentation of the technology was

capable of providing satisfactory results. As evidence, the growth of coral reef in the area of Pe-muteran waters could be driven six-fold compared to the coral growth in general. In the future, similar technology would be de-veloped in other coastal regions of Buleleng. “Surely we will ap-ply this success in other coastal regions, so that coral reef can grow and be well maintained,” he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the tourism businesspeople at Pemuteran vil-lage, Anak Agung Gede Prana, said the coral reef cultivated by biorock technology was quite successful. Even, the successful application had given a good re-sult and the UNDP had awarded him an international recognition for the success of preserving the coral reef in Pemuteran. “This biorock activates the coral reef. Armed with the success, the other reef can be well preserved and maintained,” he explained.

On the other hand, Prana said though his party could have man-aged to preserve the coral reef in Pemuteran, he still worried if the coral reefs would be experiencing problems due to marine debris from the local rivers emptying out into the Pemuteran Beach. To prevent such happening, his party teamed up with other tourism businesspeople, community lead-ers, and beach customary guard (pecalang) of Pemuteran to appeal to residents not to litter. In addi-tion, another attempt taken was to get people to work together in keeping the waters that have pro-vided positive benefits for tourism development in Pemuteran.

“Moreover, when it rains the rivers in Pemuteran can bring along rubbish and this can threat-en the coral reefs having grown well. However, we have called and invited residents to keep and preserve the ocean that has provided benefits for tourism in Pemuteran,” he explained. (kmb)

Now, a new method may help therapists measure just how much relaxing stresses people out. The new tool, which will be presented Saturday (Nov. 16) at the annual convention of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Thera-pies, should help therapists know when to say “breathe in…” and when to steer clear of relaxation techniques.

“For a lot of different anxiety disorders, we use relaxation as a treatment,” said Christina Lumberto, a psychology doctoral candidate at the University of Cincinnati. “But for the people who don’t like that, it’s not a helpful treatment.” In the 1980s, psychologists first noticed that some people doing relaxation exercises would actually get quite anxious.

“At first, you do see decreased heart rate, decreased breathing,

things that indicate relaxation,” Lumberto told LiveScience. “Af-ter they have achieved a relaxed state, all of a sudden everything just spikes back up.”

Because so many modern anxiety treatments use mind-body relaxation techniques such as meditation, Lumberto and her colleagues wanted to identify pa-tients for whom these techniques might backfire. [7 Reasons You Should Meditate]

They created a 21-point ques-tionnaire and tested it on 300 undergraduate students. The survey asks people to rate, on a scale of 0 to 5, how much they agree with statements like, “It scares me when my breathing becomes deeper;” and, “I hate getting massages because of the feeling it creates when my muscles relax.”

The questionnaire captures the

myriad reasons why people might have trouble winding down, from feeling lazy to an intense fear of being out of control.

“Some people don’t like to relax because of the physical changes, the sensations of their muscles relaxing,” she said. “Other people will say they don’t like relaxing because they’re ac-tually worried about whether or not they’re relaxing correctly.” People who fear calming tech-niques may be more sensitive to changes in their normal physical state, such as changes in heart rate or blood pressure, regard-less of whether they’re due to relaxation or to anxiety, Lum-berto said.

The relaxation-phobic tend to be more anxious in general, she said. (Oddly, those who fear relaxation are also more prone to asthma, Lum-berto’s past research has found.)

Evelyn and Remi Urbano’s suc-cessful pitch for a new cat (Face-book)Dan Urbano’s two kids really wanted a cat. So, Urbano jokingly made a bet offering to adopt a fe-line friend if they could get 1,000 “likes” on Facebook in support of their effort.

The combined power of social media, kids and cat proved too much as the Boston-area children far exceeded their dad’s challenge, generating more than 111,000 “likes” and 100,000 shares.

To accomplish their feat, 7-year-old Remi and 1-year-old Evelyn posted a picture on their mother’s Facebook page. In the photo, Remi is smiling while holding a white-board that reads:

“Hey Facebook! My sister and I re-ally want a cat. Our papa promises we can get one if we can get 1,000 likes. Please like this picture. Thank you!”

Evelyn stands next to him with a huge grin on her face and appears to be pumping her fists with excitement.

After the photo went viral, Ur-

bano honored his end of the bet, picking up a pet from a local animal shelter.

‘”Never, ever did we think this was going to happen,” their mom, Marisa, said in an interview on “Good Morning America.” “We figured our friends and maybe their friends would be nice and kind and share with each other.”

The kids named their new cat Hairietta L. Pawturr, with the “L” standing for the massive amount of Facebook “likes.”

Two years after Tycho Brahe was exhumed from his grave in Prague, chemical analyses of his corpse show that mercury poisoning did not kill the pro-lific 16th-century astronomer. The results should put to bed rumors that Brahe was mur-dered when he most likely died of a burst bladder. Separately, tests revealed that Brahe’s famously “silver” prosthetic nose was actually made out of brass.

Born in Denmark in 1546, Brahe served as an astrono-mer for the Danish king be-fore settling in Prague in the court of Holy Roman Emperor Rudolph II. Brahe is known for making the most accurate measurements of stars and planets without the aid of a telescope, proving that comets are objects in space and not in Earth’s atmosphere, and hiring the not-yet-famous German astronomer Johannes Kepler as his assistant.

Brahe was long thought to have died from a bladder infection after politeness kept him from excusing himself to use the bathroom during a royal banquet in October 1601, causing his bladder to rup-ture. However, scientists who opened Brahe’s grave in 1901 to mark the 300th anniversary of his death claimed to find

mercury in his remains, fueling rumors that the astronomer was poisoned. Some even accused a jealous Kepler of the crime.

But the new results don’t point to any such intrigue. While analyses of Brahe’s teeth are not yet complete, tests on his bones and beard hairs show that mercury concentrations in his body were not high enough to have killed him, the team of Danish and Czech researchers said. Brahe’s mercury levels even dropped to the low end of normal in the weeks leading up to his death, tests on Brahe’s beard revealed.

“In fact, chemical analyses of the bones indicate that Ty-cho Brahe was not exposed to an abnormally high mercury load in the last five to ten years of his life,” said researcher Kaare Lund Rasmussen, an as-sociate professor of chemistry at the University of Southern Denmark.

In another finding, the team reported that the silver nose piece Brahe famously wore after losing part of his own nose in a duel was not actually silver. Though the prosthesis has not been found, greenish stains around the nasal area of Brahe’s corpse contained traces of copper and zinc, indicating that his fake nose was made of brass, the researchers said.

Fresh off re-election, Obama will make a significant investment in that effort during a quick run through Southeast Asia that begins Sunday. In addition to stops in Thailand and Cambodia, the president will make an historic visit to Myanmar, where his administration has led efforts to ease the once pariah nation out of international isolation.

The trip marks Obama’s fourth visit to Asia in as many years. With

a second term now guaranteed, aides say Obama, who kicks off his schedule in Bangkok, will be a regular visitor to the region over the next four years as well.

“Continuing to fill in our pivot to Asia will be a critical part of the president’s second term and ulti-mately his foreign policy legacy,” said Ben Rhodes, Obama’s deputy national security adviser.

The president’s motivations in

Asia are both personal and strategic. Obama, who was born in Hawaii and lived in Indonesia as a child, has called himself America’s first “Pacific president.” The region gives him an opportunity to open up new markets for U.S. companies, promote democracy and ease fears of China’s rise by boosting U.S. military presence in Asia.

The president, like many of his predecessors, had hoped to cement his foreign policy legacy in the Middle East. He visited two major allies in the region, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, on one of his first overseas trip as president and attempted to revive peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.

TOKYO — Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda dissolved the lower house of parliament Friday, paving the way for elections in which his ruling party will likely give way to a weak coalition gov-ernment divided over how to solve Japan’s myriad problems.

Noda followed through on a pledge to call elections after the opposition Liberal Democratic Party agreed to back several key pieces of legislation, including a deficit financing bill and electoral reforms. The Cabinet was expect-ed to quickly announce elections for Dec. 16.

Noda’s Democratic Party of Japan has grown unpopular thanks to its handling of the Fukushima nuclear crisis and especially its recent doubling of the sales tax. The elections will probably end its three-year hold on power.

The LDP, which led Japan for most of the post-World War II

era, may win the most seats in the 480-seat lower house, though polls indicate it will fall far short of a ma-jority. That could force it to cobble together a coalition of parties with differing policies and priorities.

A divided government could hinder decision-making as Japan wrestles with a two-decade eco-nomic slump, cleanup from last year’s nuclear disaster, growing national debt and a rapidly aging population — not to mention a festering territorial dispute with China that is hurting business ties with its biggest trading partner. Japan must also decide whether it will follow through with plans to phase out nuclear power by 2040 — a move that many in the LDP oppose.

“It’s unlikely that the election will result in a clear mandate for anybody,” said Koichi Nakano, a political science professor at Sophia University. “So in that sense, there’s still going to be a lot of muddling through.”

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — Diplomats say Southeast Asian leaders have decided to launch a hu-man rights declaration despite last-minute calls for a postponement by critics, including Washington, who

say the pact contains loopholes that can allow atrocities to continue.

According to diplomats, the 10 leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, an un-wieldy bloc of liberal democracies and authoritarian states, will sign a document adopting the ASEAN Hu-

man Rights Declaration on Sunday in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh, where the heads of state are holding an annual summit.

The nonbinding declaration calls for an end to torture, arbitrary arrests and other rights violations that have been longtime concerns in the region.

Myanmar’s top diplomat, Wunna Maung Lwin, told The Associated Press that his country welcomes the declaration and will abide by it.

Clean water aid such as artesian water well from Energy and Min-eral Sources Ministry (ESDM) of Indonesia at Dusun Pasekan, Dawan Kaler Village, Klungkung could poisoned residents around as the distance between it and Sente Waste Placement (TPA) is very near. This could affect the water’s quality and it is unclear if it is suitably consumed or not. With its result not official yet, ESDM Ministry confirmed through Head of Klungkung Liv-ing Environment Board, Dewa Oka Kusumajaya, last Saturday, stated the lab test hasn’t been for-warded to the Board and suggested the people around to not consume it for now. “As it is known, the

Environment Affect Analysis (Amdal) is not needed to be done as the water debit produced is less than 50 liters per second. We are still waiting for the lab test result. We keep on supervising it,” Oka explained.

Meanwhile, Commission IV member of the Bali House of Repre-sentatives who is from Klungkung, Ketut Mandia, stated this project by ESDM seems not to have any transparency as the locals there did not know that there is this well. There was no project board name either moreover for one well was budgeted IDR 700 million which is far from what’s revealed by Head of Village, Kadek Sudarmawa, IDR 350 million. Responding to that, Sudarmawa denied that there was no transparency as he admitted to

have socialised it with the Village’s Consultative Board (BPD) includ-ing its budget which the information came from the technical team it was IDR 350 million.

This aid project from the ESDM is direct involving the village which a land is only what’s pre-pared. As told before there has been artesian well from ESDM Ministry which its 2 x 2 meters foundation collapsed before handover as it couldn’t hold up the water. “If you want to ask it’s technically better ask it to the technical team straight away. We are very thank-ful we are helped like this. We, the village officials, prefer this direct aid from the Ministry rather than non-directly which usually has its aid not reaching to us,” Sudarmawa stated. (kmb31)

Tabanan (Bali Post)—

Long weekend holiday had become a blessing for tourist destinations in Tabanan. One of them was the Ulun Danu Beratan, Candikuning village, Baturiti. Domestic tourists thronged the attraction on Friday (Nov 16).

The surges in the tourist visits reached 30 percent. Within a day, the total visit amounted to 00 people. On average, the domestic tourists were coming from a number of regions in Java. It could be seen from the license plate of private car used. Increasing visit of the domestic tourists had been detected since Thursday afternoon (Nov 15), while the peak was predicted to happen on Saturday (Nov 17). “It has become a tradition where the domestic tourist visit will increase during holidays,” said Operation Manager of the Ulun Danu Beratan, Wayan Mustika. He explained the surge in tourist visit began to happen by midday and continued until late afternoon.

Unfortunately, said Mustika, the surge of domestic tourist visit was hampered by weather condition. If it rained, the surge would be predicted to drop because the threat of rain continued to haunt the sky of Baturiti. In addition, the natural beauty of the lake could not be enjoyed maximally by visitors.

Other than the Ulun Danu tourist attraction, the significant surge also occurred at the Tanah Lot tourist attraction, Kediri. Unmitigatedly, the surge reached up to 40 percent. Since Thurs-day afternoon (Nov 15), the number of visit had reached 10,500 people per day. Of the total visit, nearly 75 percent consisted of domestic tourists, while the rest were foreigners. Under normal condition, the visitors of Tanah Lot only amounted to some 5,000 people per day.

Just like the Ulun Danu, peak of the surge was predicted to occur on Saturday. As usual, amidst the tourist surge, the manage-ment imposed a tighter security, especially for providing comfort for visitors. “We have also set the maximum parking lot,” said Operation Manager of the Tanah Lot, Toya Adnyana. The surge had also been predicted in advance. Therefore, preparation of all the supporting facilities had been made accordingly. (kmb30)

DUBAI — The head of fast-growing Qatar Airways says there are no immediate plans to launch a budget airline to compete with Dubai’s expanding low-cost carrier.

Instead, CEO Akbar al-Baker says Qatar Airways will concen-trate on enlarging its global network as part of rivalries with Gulf carriers Emirates and Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways.

Al-Baker is quoted Saturday by the Dubai-based Khaleej Times as saying there are no current plans to create a budget airline to challenge the growing market share of government-backed fly-dubai, which began service in 2009 and now serves more than 50 destinations.

But al-Baker said Qatar Airways keeps “options open” on all future plans.

Al-Baker made the comments earlier this week in Seattle after he took delivery of the airline’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

And that will be a while. The economy of the 17 countries that use the euro has shrunk for two straight quarters — a common definition of a recession — and analysts forecast little or no growth until 2014.

Without growth, there won’t be enough tax revenue to help coun-tries like Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal narrow their deficits and slow the expansion of their debts. Their debt burdens as a percentage of economic output, a key measure of fiscal health, look worse by the day.

The eurozone’s combined debts are equal to about 93 percent of the region’s gross domestic product this year and that figure is forecast to rise to peak at 94.5 percent next year. In 2009, the eurozone’s debt-to-GDP ratio was 80 percent. A ratio above 90 percent is generally con-sidered high and can put pressure on governments’ borrowing costs.

“The worrying thing about the projections is, the peak seems to keep moving,” says Raoul Ruparel of the Open Europe think tank.

The panic in European financial markets has eased in recent months largely because of aggressive ac-tion by the European Central Bank. The ECB said on Sept. 6 that it was willing to buy unlimited amounts of government bonds issued by countries struggling to pay their debts. That pledge quickly lowered borrowing costs for Spain and Italy, which earlier in the year faced the same kind of financial pressure that forced Ireland, Greece and Spain to seek bailouts.

But stemming the crisis and head-ing off a default by one or more countries aren’t the same as stimu-lating growth. The U.S. economy remains weak several years after ac-tions by the Federal Reserve helped arrest its financial crisis.

European governments are slowly trying to make their economies more competitive. But in a September survey on global competitiveness by the World Economic Forum, Greece,

BEIJING — Chinese Premier Wen Jiaobao will focus on economic cooperation at meetings of Southeast Asian leaders this week that will include President Barack Obama and not on regional territorial disputes.

Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying said Saturday that China is more interested in deepening economic ties in the region as a stabilizing force in the global economy than focusing on lingering disputes in the South China Seas.

“We need to focus on cooperation and development and send correct signals to the market,” Fu said. “We should not be distracted by some problems and deviate from our direc-tion.”

Tensions have flared recently over maritime disputes in the region, including rival claims by China, the Philippines and Vietnam to South China Sea islands and waters that are believed to be rich in gas and oil and straddle busy shipping routes.

Fu told a news conference that China and other countries bordering the South China sea have successfully managed their disputes and prevented them from escalating into major conflicts.

“Dialogues, negotiations and management have given us peace and stability, allowing us to focus on economic develop-ment and make achievements,” Fu said.

She reiterated China’s stand of resolving disputes on a bilateral basis instead of bringing them up at regional or inter-national meetings.

The meetings start Sunday in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh and are organized by the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations. China is not part of the group but holds talks with it. Leaders from Japan and South Korea will also take part.

It has not been decided whether Wen will meet Obama separately, Fu said.

While in Cambodia, Wen will make a formal visit to the country and hold talks with Prime Minister Hun Sen, Fu said. The two sides are expected to sign documents on economic technology and education.

He then makes a state visit to Thailand before ending his trip on Wednesday.

Wen will meet member of the Thai royal family and hold talks with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on a range of issues, including trade and investment, Fu said.

People who lost their homes, some them evicted for not been able to pay their mortgage or rent, spend the night in front of an Ibercaja bank branch as part of a protest in Seville, Spain, Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. Europe’s government-debt crisis is no longer panicking financial markets. But it won’t end until the region’s economy starts growing strongly again.

Austerity. Whether they got into trouble by overspending or after rescuing banks from a real-estate collapse, European governments are tackling their debts the same way: By raising taxes and cutting spending, including wage cuts for public sector workers.

Shaky banks. Banks reeling from the financial crisis are making it harder and more expensive for businesses in the hardest-hit countries to borrow.

Consumers are holding back. Wage cuts have weighed on family budgets, and people are saving more because they’re worried about further economic shocks.

Anti-business regulation. Laws in many European countries make it hard for companies to lay workers off in lean times, and that makes employers reluctant to hire. Bureaucracy chokes the process of starting a business or exporting goods.

FRANKFURT — Europe’s government-debt crisis is no longer panicking financial markets. But it won’t end until the region’s economy starts growing strongly again.

Portugal, Spain and Italy ranked low because of poor access to financing and rigid labor markets.

It requires 11 bureaucratic filings to start a business in Italy. Fellow euro member Slovenia requires two.

Europe’s economy is being held back for several reasons:

earned foreign exchange worth US$55.78 million from exports of various statues and wooden crafts during January-September 2012, according to an official of the Bali Bureau of Statistic.

“Bali’s foreign exchange rose by 18.80 percent to US$55.78 million compared to US$46.95 million in 2011,” the bureau’s Head Gede Suarsa said here on Sunday.

He added that the shipment volume also increased by 36.50 percent or 36.07 million units com-

pared to 26.43 percent in 2011.“Statues and various wooden

crafts are among 17 home-in-dustry products which have been able penetrate global markets,” he pointed out.

Suarsa stated that statue craft exports contributed 15.76 percent to the province’s total export ac-counted for US$363.96 million.

He also mentioned some po-tential products which promi-nently contributed to Bali’s foreign exchange earnings, such as bamboo crafts which reached US$10.76 million followed by furniture at US$26.2 million,

leather craft at US$8.07 million and other crafts at US$10.63 million.

“Statues and wooden crafts were mostly exported to the US and recorded the highest value among the 10 countries which imported Balinese crafts,” Suarsa noted.

The expor t s to Aus t ra l ia reached 6.81 percent, followed by Hong Kong 0.61 percent, Singapore 1.10 percent, Thai-land 3.34 percent, England 5.76 percent, the Netherlands 2.50 percent and other countries 48.25 percent.

“It is unacceptable for products of local SMEs to be defeated by products from China and Malaysia, especially in our own market. Therefore, entrepreneurs running SMEs in Bali should offer competi-tive prices,” Ramantha said.

According to him, these entrepreneurs should offer competitive prices, if they want to compete and maintain strong business ties in the domestic market.

He also argued that these entrepreneurs will be able to sell their products at competitive prices, since there are many banks and finan-cial institutions that are willing to provide loans.

“It depends on how these entrepreneurs use the loans. The poor quality of human resources is one of the problems that entrepreneurs face in Bali,” he expressed.

Therefore, Ramantha advised the people of Bali to reduce imports and increase exports, to boost the regional economy.

“Besides offering competitive prices, entrepreneurs should also have a workable marketing strategy,” he said.

“When I say `workable marketing strategy`, it is not just limited to advertising. In fact, the best marketing strategy is to maintain the quality of the products and stick to the specified delivery period,” he added.

Meanwhile, Gede Made Sadguna, Deputy Chief of Indonesia’s Central Bank (BI), in Denpasar, said that strengthening SMEs in Bali is very important, since SMEs can survive economic shocks.

“SMEs remain strong, amidst economic shocks, compared to other kinds of businesses, because SMEs usually grow from small busi-nesses, which have been through the selection process,” he said.

Entrepreneurship through SMEs, according to Sadguna, should be developed to reduce the regional economic dependence on the central government.

Based on the data from the provincial government of Bali in 2011, the number of SMEs in Bali has reached 262 thousand units.

AntaraKUTA - Deputy Minister of Health Ali Gufron Mukti said Indo-

nesia needs more oral and maxillofacial surgeons as there are only 285 of them in the nation with over 240 million people.

“That figure is still little that the government keeps trying to in-crease them,” Deputy Minister said after his opening remarks on The 10th Asian Congress of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS) in Kuta, Badung, Bali, Friday.

Mukti said the ideal number of oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the country was around 1,000 to treat people with harelip and diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral (mouth) and maxillofacial (jaws and face) region.

“To increase the oral and maxilllofacial surgeons, the government is granting scholarships for those who pursue specialist or diploma program,” Mukti said in front representatives of 33 countries in the international congress.

The replenishment of oral and maxillofacial surgeons is necessary along with the community health insurance program (Jamkesmas) and the establishment of the Social Security Providers (BPJS). Thus, people with oral and maxillofacial problems would then received free treatment from the government.

Since 1986, there have been around 3,000 people underwent oral and maxillofacial surgery in East Nusa Tenggara.

The government has set a target to yield 3,400 specialist doctors in 2014. “They would comprise not only oral and maxillofacial special-ists but also in other specialties,” Mukti said.

The men and women of the 2.3 million-member People’s Libera-tion Army also thanked President Hu Jintao and other outgoing leaders for their guidance over the past decade. That was a reflec-tion of the military’s happiness with Hu’s decision to hand the chairmanship of the party com-mission that oversees the military to Xi, rather than holding on to it for two years as his predecessor, Jiang Zemin, did.

The “military will absolutely take orders from the party center, the military commission, and com-mission chairman Xi Jinping,” said an editorial in the official People’s Liberation Army Daily.

“At any time and under any circumstances, we will take our orders from the party center, the military commission, and com-mission chairman Xi Jinping, and be absolutely loyal and reliable,” it said.

Xi became chairman of the party military commission on Thursday, the same day he took over as party leader from Hu,

who will retain the title of state president until next spring, when he will hand it over to Xi.

Xi, who currently holds the title of vice president, paid tribute to Hu and other outgoing leaders himself on Thursday, thanking them for “leading all the people of the nation in unity and achieving glorious achievements acclaimed by all the world.”

Hu’s decision to step down from the military commission surprised many, and won plaudits from the military, which had in the past expressed concerns about divided leadership.

Hu’s relinquishing of the post completes only the second smooth transfer of power in party history, underscoring the party’s hopes of institutionalizing its often ob-scure and secretive workings and spurring reforms to allow greater participation in decision making by rank-and-file members.

“I think this has a huge signifi-cance,” said Zhao Chu, a Shang-hai-based scholar who specializes in military issues. “It breaks away

from the tradition. It will allow better coordination between the party and the military.”

The handover of power comes as the military is rapidly modern-izing with the help of double-digit annual percentage increases in the defense budget and major technical advances, including the development of two prototype stealth fighters and the launch of the country’s first aircraft carrier. China claims those are purely for defense, although they are seen by its neighbors as adding bite to its territorial claims off its east coast and in the South China Sea.

Reform-minded intellectuals and some outspoken officers have urged the People’s Libera-tion Army to transfer its ultimate loyalty to the state, rather than the party, saying that would help professionalize the armed forces. In response, party leaders and state-controlled media have repeatedly derided the notion as mistaken and dangerous and re-iterated the axiom that “the party controls the gun.”

ASSIUT, Egypt — A speeding train that crashed into a bus car-rying Egyptian children to their kindergarten on Saturday killed 51 and prompted a wave of anger against a government under mount-ing pressure to rectify the former regime’s legacy of neglect.

The crash, which killed children between four and six years old and three adults, led to local protests and accusations from outraged Egyptians that President Mohammed Morsi is failing to deliver on the demands of last year’s uprising for basic rights, dignity and social justice.

The accident left behind a mangled shell of a bus twisted underneath the blood-splattered train outside the city of Assiut, some 200 miles (320 kilometers) south of Cairo. Children’s body parts, their books, schoolbags and tiny socks were strewn along the tracks.

Um Ibrahim, a mother whose three children were on the bus, pulled her hair in grief. “My children! I didn’t feed you before you left,” she wailed in horror. A witness said the train pushed the bus along the tracks for nearly a kilometer (half a mile).

As one man picked up pieces of shattered limbs he screamed: “Only God can help!” More than a dozen injured children were being treated in two different facilities, many with severed limbs and in critical condition.

Several hours after the accident, Morsi appeared on state televi-sion, promising an investigation and financial compensation for victims’ families. His transport minister and the head of Egypt’s railways resigned. “Those responsible for this accident will be held accountable,” Morsi said.

KUALA LUMPUR — Three Malaysian policemen have been charged with raping an Indo-nesian maid in a case that has sparked outrage in Indonesia.

Lawyer Rosli Ismail says the three officers pleaded not guilty to charges of raping the woman at a police station in northern Penang state earlier this month. The woman was detained for reportedly failing to produce a passport.

He says the men face up to 20 years in jail and whipping if convicted.

The case has sparked outrage and protests in Indonesia, which recently lifted a three-year ban on sending domestic workers to Malaysia imposed after a spate of abuse by Malaysian employers.

Rosli, a lawyer for the In-donesian Embassy, said Friday the woman is expected to testify when the trial begins in Decem-ber before being sent home.

“We hope Indonesia could en-sure all components to strongly commit to maintaining stability in the region,” President Yudhoyono said here during a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma airport on Saturday.

President Yudhoyono pointed out that the disputed South China Sea and East Asia issues are ex-pected to be mainly discussed dur-ing the East Asia Summit, which has been scheduled to be held on November 20, 2012 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

“Moreover, based on recent developments in the East Asia region, the tension between China and Japan has been high over the disputed islands,” President Yud-hoyono said.

AntaraJAKARTA - Indonesia’s economic growth is predicted to rise 6.4 percent

in 2013, driven by investments in the mining sector and a significant increase in domestic consumption, according to economist Ikhsan Modjo.

“I am optimistic that economic growth could reach 6.4 percent by 2013, even though oil and gas issues are still in transition and are a different en-tity from mining issues,” said Ikhsan, an economist from the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef), here on Saturday.

He noted that economic growth fell to 6.1 percent in the second quarter of 2012 because of the poor economic situation.

“However, the investment was still stable,” Modjo noted.“The economic growth in 2013 is expected to fluctuate due to a number

“As of now, managing the budget’s funding has not been well-coordinated, such as the proposal submitted from the ministry to parliament,” he said.

Previously, Central Bank/Indonesian Bank (BI) predicted that the nation’s economic growth in 2013 would reach 6.5 percent, since international de-mand for Indonesian commodities is predicted to be higher than in 2012.

“We are optimistic that we can achieve the target of 6.5 percent,” Indo-nesian Bank’s Director of Economic Research and Monetary Policy Perry Warjiyo noted.

He pointed out that the increase of commodity prices will also contribute to the increase in economic growth.

“Economic growth in Europe is predicted to be in a range of 0.3-0.5 percent, while China has to make efforts to reach higher than 8.0 percent, although 7.8 percent is still achievable,” Warjiyo added.

Similar comment was revealed by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Pangestu. According to her, the success of the Batur Global Geopark could be an example and encourage-ment for other geoparks in Indonesia wishing to join in the GGN. Inauguration of the Batur Global Geopark was very meaningful for the tourism development in Indonesia in the effort to develop the 16 national tourism strategic areas, special interest tourism and improvement of the quality of tourists visiting Indonesia.

Admittedly, the inclusion of Batur in the GGN became a pride not only for Kintamani but also for Indonesia since it became the first in Indonesia and the second in Southeast Asia. “It has incredible meaning and is very important because geopark is a geological site recording the world history for millions of years. Natural resources and culture are packaged integrally in the geopark. As consequence, the Batur geopark has now been included in the national tourism strategic areas in Indonesia. Within 3-5 years to come, the tourism developed will be the Lake Batur, Kintamani,” she said while af-firming that there was a great opportunity to promote the tourism of Kintamani but replete with challenges. The regent should im-mediately make geosite zonation to keep and guard. By preventing the development and rampant sand mining activities across the caldera area as well as promoting the eco-friendly aquaculture, the geopark could be managed well with the involvement of all levels of society to create people’s welfare.

The advantages inaugurated would exponentially go up the revenue of foreign exchanges and the values to be achieved like the People’s Republic of China (PRC) that had become a member of GGN with the most global geoparks namely 27 sites. Its growth from 2000 to 2012 was very significant. The GGN was capable of giving added value to the economic growth through tourism. In 2000, the number of tourist visit to Yuntaishan geopark reached about 200,000 people with foreign exchange earning worth USD 3 million. However, after joining the GGN member in 2004, the visit increased to 1.25 million people with foreign exchange earning of USD 90 million.

With such considerable opportunities and challenges, all the parties had to be ready to prevent the violations starting from the development and sand dredging in the region so that the activities would not reach the geosite zonation specified. (kmb17)

Five-time NBA champion Bryant scored a game-high 31 points, cen-ter Dwight Howard contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds and Spanish forward Pau Gasol also recorded a double-double, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Metta World Peace poured in five-of-10 three pointers to finish with 22 points and Jordan Hill, off the bench, also reached double figures with 10.

Guard Goran Dragic led the way for the Suns with 22 points and for-

ward Luis Scola weighed in with 18 but the visitors paid the price after being out-rebounded 48-38.

“We’re just getting started, but it will make a lot of things easier,” Bryant told reporters of the strat-egy already instilled in the team by D’Antoni after his first practice session with them the previous day. “The whole offense has to find their position. He (D’Antoni) knows how to direct his offense and he’s been directing it for a long time. The

main thing is it’s very simple.”The Lakers dominated free

throws, making 22-of-28 com-pared to just seven-of 15-by the Suns. “We made shots tonight,” six-time All-Star Howard said. “Metta was on fire, Kobe hit some tough shots and we got to the free-throw line a lot. When we do that, we win.”

D’Antoni, appointed as Lakers coach on Monday after his pre-decessor Mike Brown was fired three days earlier, watched Friday’s action approvingly from the team locker room.

Los Angeles are next in action on Sunday when they host the Houston Rockets and D’Antoni, who has already urged his players to score 110-plus points per game, is expected to take charge for the first time courtside.

PRAGUE - Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek used a roaring home crowd to come back from a set down on Saturday, putting the Czech Republic 2-1 up over hold-ers Spain and a win away from the Davis Cup title.

The Czech pair looked tired

from the gruelling opening sin-gles matches that finished late on Friday but overcame a slow start to triumph 3-6 7-5 7-5 6-3 over Spain’s top duo. Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez, who became the first Spanish pair to win the doubles title at the ATP Tour Finals for 37 years on Mon-day, silenced the 14,000-strong

crowd early on.The Spanish cut short a Czech

rally in a crucial seventh game that helped them cruise in the first set but the Czechs raced ahead in the second set to get the crowd going again and slowly take control.

“They play a very different style... (but) we got used to it and started to play our game,” world

number six Berdych told reporters. “It is still not over. We still need one more point. We expect two hard matches tomor-row with very strong op-ponents. So we’ll go one-by-one.”

Berdych will hope to take that momentum into the first singles match on Sunday against fifth-ranked David Ferrer.

In the second match, Stepanek faces Nicolas Almagro, who pushed Berdych to the limit in the Czech number one’s hard-hitting five-set win late on Friday.

A Czech win on Sun-day would give the coun-try its first Davis Cup crown in 32 years and end Spain’s bid for a fourth title in five years.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Adrien Broner stopped Antonio DeMarco in the eighth round to take the WBC lightweight championship Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall.

Broner (25-0, 21 KOs) domi-nated from the outset, punishing DeMarco (28-3-1, 21 KOs) until DeMarco’s corner mercifully threw in the towel. Referee Benji Esteves stopped the fight at 1:49 of the round.

Broner, a 23-year-old Cin-cinnati native, uncorked a left uppercut that slammed against DeMarco’s jaw and sent the 27-year-old Mexican to one knee. While Broner danced his way into a neutral corner, Esteves moved in to start counting. De-Marco’s corner signaled him to stop the bout over DeMarco’s mild protest.

‘’I’m proud of DeMarco for fighting the way he fought,’’ DeMarco’s promoter, Gary Shaw said. ‘’But Broner’s the total package. He could be the next Floyd (Mayweather, Jr.).’’

Broner took control in the fifth, punishing DeMarco with uppercuts and straight rights that thudded against DeMarco’s face

and produced a bruise under his left eye to match the one under his right. Some fans cheered while oth-ers cringed at the onslaught. When the bell sounded, DeMarco walked wearily back to his corner.

‘’I was shaking and baking him until I flipped him up,’’ Bron-er said. ‘’I knew coming into this fight it was going to be a world-class fight. But I knew he didn’t have the skills to beat me.

‘’I wanted to make a state-ment tonight and I did. He was definitely the toughest opponent I’ve faced. He was strong and could take a punch.’’

There was a minor controversy before the main event when De-Marco’s camp complained that Broner’s gloves were smaller. There was no scale to weigh the gloves in the dressing rooms - they are supposed to weigh eight ounces - so DeMarco was offered the opportunity to wear the same gloves as Broner and he agreed.

In the co-feature Detroit heavyweight Johanthon Banks (29-1-1, 19 KOs) stopped Seth Mitchell (25-1-1, 19 KOs) in the second round. Banks dropped the former Michigan State line-backer three times in the second, prompting referee Eddie Cotton to stop the fight at 2:38.

MADRID - Leaders Barcelona pulled six points clear of Atletico Madrid when Lionel Messi netted his seventh double of the campaign in a 3-1 La Liga win at home to Real Zaragoza on Saturday. The Argentine World Player of the Year, who struck either side of Alex Song’s debut goal for the club, took his league tally to 17 as unbeaten Barca moved on to 34 points from 12 matches.

Atletico can trim the gap back to three with a win at Granada on Sunday. Third-placed Real Madrid, seeking a seventh win in eight games after a poor start to their title defence, can close to within two points of their city rivals with a win at home to Ath-letic Bilbao later on Saturday.

After sending an early shot narrowly wide, Messi opened the scoring in the 16th minute at the Nou Camp when he picked up Jordi Alba’s pass and clipped the ball into the bottom corner.

Zaragoza pulled a goal back eight minutes later when a Francisco Montanes shot took a slight deflection of Carles Puyol, back in central defence after injury, and flew past Victor Valdes.

Song, who joined from Arsenal in the close season, thumped a Messi pullback through a crowd of players into the net to restore

Barca’s lead in the 28th minute and Messi curled in his second to kill off the game on the hour.

It was his 78th goal of 2012 for club and country - 66 for Barca and 12 for Argentina - and he is closing in

on the record for a calendar year of 85 set by German Gerd Mueller in 1972.

PARIS - Paris St Germain have a lot of work ahead of them to play as a team rather than just a collection of players, coach Carlo Ancelotti said after the Ligue 1 leaders slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Stade Rennes on Saturday.

PSG, who were without the league’s top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic through suspension, suffered their second straight home loss despite the visitors being reduced to nine men early in the second half.

The megarich capital club, who have not won in their last three league games, had numerous chances to score but they wasted good positions by preferring to shoot rather than pass to team mates.

“I am here to build a team, which we are not yet,” the Italian coach told a news conference. “It is not acceptable to play like we did tonight. It is not acceptable to lose two home games in a row. Some things will change for the next games,” he added.

“It is a huge disappointment. We are not a solid team yet, we do not have a good attitude. Our problem was psychological. Some things will change.”

PSG, who were top on 30 points from 13 games last season before Ancelotti was brought in and eventully lost the title to unheralded Montpellier, are only on 23 at the same stage this term.

This comes despite having spent millions to sign players such former AC Milan frontman Ibrahimovic and centre back Thiago Silva during the off-season.

“Ibra”, who is top scorer with 10 goals from 10 league matches played and wowed the world with his overhead kick for Sweden in midweek, also had to turn himself into a playmaker in PSG’s last home Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb when he set up all four goals (4-0)

Manchester United were humbled 1-0 by Norwich City and Chelsea upset at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday as Premier League champions Manchester City took advantage of their rivals’ mistakes with a 5-0 demolition of Aston Villa. United, who suffered their third league defeat of the season in the late kickoff at Carrow Road, succumbed to a 60th-minute header from their former youth team player Anthony Pilkington.

Chelsea lost 2-1 at West Brom, with Peter Odemwingie’s second-half winner sending the home side into fourth place and ruining the return of former Baggies manager Roberto Di Matteo.

City’s victory at the Etihad Stadium, engineered with two goals apiece by Argentine dup Sergio Aguero and Carlos Te-vez, took them top of the league for the first time this season. Roberto Mancini’s side have 28 points from 12 matches, with United second on 27 points.

Chelsea have 24 points from 12 games with Albion a point further back.

Southampton increased the pressure on Queens Park Rang-ers manager Mark Hughes by winning their basement battle 3-1 away and Reading, who also started the day in the bottom three, surprised Everton with a 2-1 home win - Adam Le Fondre’s double leading them to their first league win this season.

Arsenal had kickstarted their season in the early Saturday kickoff by beating north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 after Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor was sent off for a reckless first-half challenge on Santi Cazorla.

“Our tally says everything about this team. We never settle when we are 2-0 up and today we completely dom-inated the match,” said skipper Mark van Bommel.

PSV are top with 33 points, four ahead of Twente En-schede who travel Utrecht on Sunday. Third-placed Vi-tesse, on 25 points, host neighbours NEC Nijmegen.

Milan draw 2-2 at Napoli with El Shaarawy doubleReuters

ROME - A brilliant brace from young Italy striker Stephan El Shaarawy brought AC Milan back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Napoli while Serie A leaders Juventus were held 0-0 at home to Lazio on Saturday. The scoreline relieved some of the pressure on Milan coach Mas-similiano Allegri, whose side are now 12th on 15 points after a performance that suggested they might have a decent season in them yet.

completely in mid-air and confused the already-committed Christian Ab-biati. Milan’s front three were causing Napoli’s defence problems though, and they should have equalised five minutes later when Riccardo Monto-livo weakly dragged a shot wide when presented with a glorious opportunity by Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Napoli doubled their lead on the half hour through local boy Lorenzo Insigne, who collected Christian Mag-gio’s cross and fired a deflected shot through the legs of the hapless Abbiati. It could have been 3-0 two minutes later when Insigne intercepted Milan left-back Kevin Constant’s poor cross-field pass and raced through on goal before sliding a poor pass to Edinson Cavani instead of shooting.

FIRST-TIME STRIKE

El Shaarawy, who scored his first

international goal on Wednesday in a 2-1 defeat by France, then pulled Milan back into the game with his ninth goal of the season a minute from half-time. The 20-year-old strolled onto Francesco Acerbi’s pass on the edge of the area and sent a wonderful first-time strike over Napoli keeper Morgan De Sanctis and into the top right-hand corner.

Milan almost equalised twice early in the second half, first on 57 minutes when Bojan Krkic finished a swift counter-attack by toe-poking wide and then a minute later Boateng missed with a header.

While Milan looked the better side, Napoli were always a threat on the break and Marek Hamsik should have put the game beyond reach in the 60th when he shot wide after a Cavani flick-on had put him one-on-one with Abbiati.

El Shaarawy gave Milan a deserved

reward for their attacking play with eight minutes to go when he raced onto substitute Robinho’s through ball and calmly slotted home the equaliser. It was his 10th of the season. Juve, who welcome Chelsea in a crunch Champions League encounter in Turin on Tuesday, fielded arguably their strongest possible side but could not break down a solid Lazio - buoyed by last weekend’s derby win over AS Roma.

Vladimir Petkovic’s Lazio had goalkeeper Federico Marchetti to thank after he made a series of saves including one incredible stop from a de-flected Fabio Quagliarella strike.

“It was a sudden deflection and I was quite lucky to push it over the bar,” Marchetti told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s an important point, not many teams come here and go home with anything. We’ll enjoy it, knowing that we need to improve.”

Here we can do watersport activity like surfing and wind surfing and also a good place to get relax because here more quite than other beach. In the afternoon, we can see a great sunset view while we swim on the beach.

LOS ANGELES - Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers gave their fans a taste of the ‘Showtime’ basketball promised by their new coach Mike D’Antoni with a rousing 114-102 home win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday. Though D’Antoni was not courtside to take charge of his first game as he recovers from knee replacement surgery earlier this month, his players thrived with the up-tempo approach as they posted their highest score of the season.

“Moreover, based on recent developments in the East Asia region, the tension between China and Japan has been high over the disputed islands,” President Yud-hoyono said.

in 2013, driven by investments in the mining sector and a significant increase in domestic consumption, according to economist Ikhsan Modjo.

“However, the investment was still stable,” Modjo noted.“The economic growth in 2013 is expected to fluctuate due to a number

of new heads of state performance across the world,” he added.Sharing his opinion, Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency

(FITRA) general secretary Yuna Farhan stated that Indonesian economic growth will not affect social inequality if the budget is optimally ab-sorbed.

(kmb17)

But it won’t end until the region’s economy starts growing strongly again.

earned foreign exchange worth US$55.78 million from exports of various statues and wooden crafts during January-September 2012, according to an official of the Bali Bureau of Statistic.

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — Diplomats say Southeast Asian leaders have decided to launch a hu-man rights declaration despite last-minute calls for a postponement by critics, including Washington, who

man Rights Declaration on Sunday in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh, where the heads of state are holding an annual summit.

The nonbinding declaration calls for an end to torture, arbitrary arrests and other rights violations that have been longtime concerns in the region.

Myanmar’s top diplomat, Wunna Maung Lwin, told The Associated Press that his country welcomes the declaration and will abide by it.

Semarapura (Bali Post) –

(kmb30)

Relaxing Is Stressful for SomeDeep breaths, yoga, a lazy day at the beach: While some may find those activities soothing,

their mere mention can set other people’s nerves on edge.

(kmb)

Singaraja (Bali Post)—Air Sanih tourist attraction located at Bukti village in

(kmb25)

The inauguration was resumed with the signing of plaque and delivery of trilogic fossil symbol of the GGN certificate. From the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik, the certifi-cate was handed over to Governor

of Bali and then handed back to the Regent of Bangli Made Gianyar. The certificate presentation was attended by the assessor team of UNESCO, Indonesian Ambassador to Portugal, Chairman of the Indonesia Hotels and Restaurants Association (PHRI)

of Bali doubling as the Regent of Gianyar, Cokorda Artha Ardana Sukawati, Deputy Regent Sedana Arta, Jero Gede Batur Alitan and Duwuran, Jero Gede Kehen, rel-evant agencies and a number of community leaders of Bangli.

On that occasion, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and Minister of Culture and Creative Economy requested the regent Bangli to immediately make geosite zone in Batur to protect the historic sites of the terrestrial civilization and envi-ronmental preservation. Having been established, in the next four years the Batur GGN should be able to maintain its position because it would be re-assessed by the UNESCO assessor.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jero Wacik, said the idea of proposing the geopark to UNES-

CO was carried out by his party on a working visit to New York. At that time, Indonesia had not had any GGN whereas the Island of Bali in par-ticular and Indonesia in general had a lot of volcanological potentials. In fact, in order to qualify for the GGN was not an easy move though it had been attempted seriously by working hand in hand. As conceived and done seriously in 2008 when he was the Minister of Culture and Tourism, the hard work could just reap the result four years later.
