Visualization of georeferenced information in form of maps can report important benefits on daily taxonomist work.

EDIT Geographic tools makes possible:-as taxonomist, visualize your own georeferenced point data (EDIT

MapViewer)

-as web-developer, get distribution maps of data stored in your database (EDIT mapRest services)

Well-formatted CSV file

Taxonomist georeferenced data, coordinates in latitude/longitude and decimal notation

Basic features:-Map composition (add/remove WMS layers) and navigation (zoom in/out, pan…)-Data symbolization -Query your data-Legend, scalebar download-Printing in different resolutions (480dpi)-GBIF density data browsing

More complex operations:-create and symbolize your own polygons-GeoSpatial analysis:

1) Number of records per polygon2) Number of genera per polygon3) taxa/genera ratio per polygon
