1 Editing an Absence Request Absence requests involve a creating, editing, and approval process. They are used to specify a person’s unavailability to their home organization. They should be used for scheduling medical appointments, leave, TDY assignments, etc. Absences should not be used for scheduling assigned tasks, including ground duties and meetings. An approved absence flags initial conflicts for the organization’s scheduler and highlights the conflict if the absent person is mistakenly placed on the schedule. This Quick Guide reviews editing absence requests in TIMS. Tip 1 Click Show full week to display the week days. Tip 2 The logged in user appears at the top of the Selected Resources panel highlighted in green. If necessary, enter the name of another person whose absence request must be edited. 1 Click Edit an Absence Request. The Absence Request Management window appears. Editing an Absence Request

Tip 1

Click Show full week todisplay the week days.

Tip 2

3 Double-click the absence in the calendar. The View / Edit Absence Request window appears.
