EDITION 264 rd JULY 6 th , 2018 TCU approves studies and Suape publishes tender for assignment of non-operating area of LPG container and distribution activity The Court of Audit of the Union (TCU) appro- ved the studies for assignment of non- operating area of 24 thousand square meters for packaging and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at the port of Suape Port. Private investments of R $ 65 million are foreseen, with a concession period (contract time) of 20 years. The project is now entering the bidding phase, which was published on June 6th. The winning transferee will be res- ponsible for the expansion and development of the necessary infrastructure, improvements or replacements and maintenance on the existing infrastructure. MOVEMENT - The Port of Suape closed the first four months of 2018, registering growth of 5%. The result was strongly driven by the move- ment of liquid and solid bulk cargoes. It was 7.4 million tons from January to April 2018, accounting for an increase of 353,887 thou- sand tons compared to the same period of the previous year. Liquid bulk (derived from oil and alcohol), the main type of merchandise moved at the port, pulled the positive numbers. It was 5.6 million tons of these products in the first four months, growing 12% compared to 2017. Solid bulk (wheat and minerals) also grew. The accumu- lated was 198 thousand tons in the period, growing 18% in relation to 2017, when the port handled 167 thousand tons of these products. New oil tanker starts operation at Itaqui Port The "JBU Opal" vessel, flagged by the Marshall Islands, docked at 6 pm on Wednesday (4) at the oil pier inaugurated on March 27 this year at the Itaqui Port, for the first operation carri- ed out in the new crib, with the discharge of 5,000 metric tons of ethanol. The Court of Audit of the Union (TCU) appro-

ved the studies for assignment of non-

operating area of 24 thousand square meters

for packaging and distribution of liquefied

petroleum gas (LPG) at the port of Suape
