In recent years the use of the techniques from the geometrictheory of Banach spaces in the study of function spaces hasbecome an important tool and we are happy that this specialissue has received the attention of both senior and youngresearchers in these areas.
We have received papers from a wide cross-section ofresearchers in this area, covering existence theorems con-cerning the convolution of functions, distributions, and ultra-distributions of Beurling type with supports satisfying suit-able compatibility conditions and the Rayleigh equation oftwo deviating arguments. Application of the Leray-Schauderindex theorem and the Leray-Schauder fixed point theoremtowards the existence of nontrivial periodic solutions ofthis type of equations is covered. Also covered is smoothapproximation of Lipschitz functions on Finsler manifolds, keeping control on the corresponding Lipschitz constants. Anarticle that extends the usual notion ofKothe dual of a Banachfunction space to a broad class of Banach lattices is also in thiscollection.
On abstract Banach space theory, there is an article thatstudies a weakening of the notion of central subspace of aBanach space, as well as an article that studies notions ofgeneralized approximation properties.
