    3 Summary of the event

    3.1 Introduction

“Numérique en santé: les innovations qui changent la donne” (Personal health systems: innovations

that change the environment) was organised on 30 May 2013 in Paris, in Parc de Expositions. This

event was held within the exhibition “Salons de la Santé et de l’Autonomie”, a yearly event of three

strands: Hôpital Expo, Gerontexpo and HIT (health information technologies). It was an appropriate

place for dissemination as the three stands cover the whole spectrum of issues around ageing,

    information technology and care.

The goal was to discuss the relevance of personal health systems as “innovations that change the

environment”, highlighting the existing advantages and challenges, in the context of ageing.

The initiative gathered more than 50 selected participants from the three files of knowledge: ageing,

healthcare and information technology to exchange knowledge and practical experience, coming

from the healthcare, management and industrial fields.

    3.2 Progress of the Event

The event started with a general overview on hospital information systems in France, followed by

two study cases: one on the medical imaging sharing in the region Ile-de-France, the other on

building a platform in e-Health services. Two speakers then covered new economic models for

personal health with examples from Spain and the US. As a conclusion the AgeingWell was be

presented as a valuable European network for the exchange of best practices and networking.

Frank Jolivaldt, from the health ministry department of information system of healthcare providers

presented a broad picture of what is happening in the field of health information system.

Valère Dussaux is in charge of the project department in the GCS of the Ile de France region. GCS is

the acronym of Groupement de Coopération Sanitaire, a structure devoted to information system,

gathering all hospitals of the Ile de France region (12 million inhabitants). He presented the concept

of shared medical imaging, a successful example of innovation organizational, technological and

    financial.

The two speakers following were Christian Huart in charge of information systems in the regional

health agency Picardie and Christine Boutet, the medical director of the Groupement de Coopération

Sanitaire e-Health in Picardie. They presented the construction of a regional eHealth platform.

Pauline Fontaine, COO and Josep Picas, CEO, both of Adaptative HS presented other economic

models from abroad, bundled payment and shared savings, and what can be learned from Spanish

    and US examples.

To start the discussion with the audience, the industry was invited to comment the presentation.

Christian Nibourel, President of both Syntec Santé (the French association of engineering and IT

companies) and Accenture France and Bernard D’Oriano, President of LESISS (the federation of

information systems companies) gave a challenging feedback.

The meeting was concluded by Pascal Garel, Chief executive of HOPE, the European Hospital and

Healthcare Federation who presented the context of the seminar in the development of the
