2016 Child Care and Program Guide

  • FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENTNurturing the potential of every child and teen.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONSTINY TOTS (Ages 6 weeks to 2 years)This program is designed to nurture the infant and toddler in a warm and stimulating envi-ronment. Social and verbal skills, independent feeding, toilet training and motor skill develop-ment are the focus of this classroom.

TODDLERS (Ages 2 to 3 years) Curriculum is designed to excite the young child to enjoy learning. Activities include stories, songs, arts and crafts and play. Socialization, imaginative play and motor skill development are emphasized. Children should be in the process of potty training at home. Children should wear pants or shorts with elastic waists. No overalls or one-piece outfits are permitted; this is to aid the child’s independence and potty training.

PRE-SCHOOL PREP (Ages 3 to 4 years)Children must be potty trained. Our Pre-School Prep program is designed to provide a smooth transition into a pre-school setting. Our curriculum builds upon the skills which were worked on as a toddler. We also introduce new and stimulating activities such as language arts, socialization skills, science, math and motor skills activities. Children will learn and master self-help skills, which encourage them to be more independent. Children move to Preschool room in September.

PRE-SCHOOL (Ages 4 to 5 years) This program is appropriate for children one year prior to entering Kindergarten. A program designed to enrich the child’s growing social and academic needs. A theme curriculum follows the calendar as seasons, holidays and important people and events are observed.
