IN AN INSTANT, ARIK MULLEN REALIZED THE VALUE OF MOTION IS MONEY®

MAY 7TH, 8:10 A.M.

A HANDY REFERENCE TOOL BRINGS HIGHER PROFIT WITHIN REACH

AmSlab Solutions founder, Arik Mullen, is always finding ways to solidify his concrete business. So when he learned how a simple workbook available through CNA’s Motion is Money® program could highlight hundreds of hours of worker inefficiencies, he called his Risk Control Specialist, conducted a worksite audit and developed a plan to minimize bending, lifting and reaching for tools. Now AmSlab productivity is up 3%, and Arik’s enjoying a much healthier bottom line.

When you’re looking for programs that help keep workers safe and businesses strong … we can show you more.®

An independent and affirmative fiduciary duty to the owner/princi-pal/client from the licensed design professional will change many of

Opening General Session and Keynote Speaker The Power of Personal Engagement—Our Daily Contribution to a Culture of Employee Engagement by Clint Swindall, Verbalocity, Inc.

The engagement of employees continues to be a top priority for business leaders—and for good reason. Research indicates a highly engaged workforce can increase productivity, profitability, and innovation, while reducing costs associated with attracting and retaining new employees. In a nutshell, engaged employees are good for business.

With research also showing that less than one-third of employees are truly engaged, an ongoing effort must be made to build a culture to overcome employee disengage-ment. While we work to engage employees, we must first

consider our own level of engagement. Every day we walk through the doors of our office we are either adding to or taking away from the culture of the organization. There is no middle ground. Our personal engagement is our daily contribution to a culture of employee engagement.

In this keynote presentation, Clint Swindall will take a look at personal engagement and the impact it has on the engagement of those around us. Often our biggest obsta-cle to building a strong culture of employee engagement is standing in our shoes. Swindall will identify some simple steps to focus on personal leadership and discuss how small adjustments can positively impact the engagement of those around us.

10:45 AM - 12:00 PM

Contractor Education Workshop Unique Technology Solutions— A Game Changer for the Subcontractor by Brian Moore, Co-Founder and

President, Kahua, Alpharetta, Ga.

In this workshop, you will learn about unique and available technol-ogy solutions and how to leverage them. Brian Moore will discuss how

to finally solve the data ownership issue, and he will explain how subcontractors drive change versus change being driven on them by general contractors.

required of licensed design professionals promises to radi-cally alter the landscape of the construction industry. But of course, this will necessitate changes in the way contrac-tors, subcontractors, estimators, owners, and manufactur-ers approach the delivery of the project as a whole. This workshop will explain what a fiduciary duty is and why it applies to licensed design professionals, and will discuss the implications for limitation of liability clauses; the use of standard contracts; and the changed structure of the rela-tionships in design build delivery methods. Subcontractors at all levels of scope and size will be affected by this new regime and will have to participate actively in understand-ing and delivering outcomes under such conditions to remain competitive.

MUSIC: Experience the one-of-a-kind Nashville scene that grooves to the constant beat of live music and hit attractions. https://www.visitmusiccity.com/Music

NIGHTLIFE: When the sun goes down, Nashville shines bright with plenty to do. We have the honky tonks, concert venues, and restaurants to keep the party going from the mo-ment the moon says hello to when the sun begins to rise. Let’s do this.https://www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/thingstodo/nightlife

FOOD SCENE: While Nashville has long been known for its expansive music scene, the talent and creativity of its culinary scene has recently put Nashville on the map. Food & Wine highlighted the “booming Music City food scene,” Food Arts Magazine noted the “emerging culinary scene putting Nashville on the gastronomic radar” and, most recently, Condé Nast Traveler stated this about Music City:

“There’s enough going on food-wise to warrant a trip solely for eating.” Nash-ville’s creative spirit has certainly infil-trated into its kitchens, turning them into the chef’s studio. From Southern fare to haute cuisine to quite literally everything in between, Nashville’s pal-ate offers it all. https://www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/thingstodo/food

ART & CULTURE: While we might be called Music City, it's not the only art you find around every block. Nash-ville’s Arts has everything to offer the artistic mind. From contemporary art to theatrical art, if you have an art bug then Nashville is the place to be. https://www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/thingstodo/ArtandCulture

HISTORY: Nashville has a story to tell. From Greek temples to Greek-Revival mansions to its strong musical heritage, Nashville wears its history proud. https://www.visitmusiccity.com/visi-tors/thingstodo/nashvillehistory

SHOPPING: Nashville’s creative community runs deep and is seen in the music, the food, the fashion, and everything in between. From national names and elite designers to local artisans, Nashville’s diverse shopping scene is the perfect fit for any style or price range. With both large malls and eclectic shopping districts, it’s easy to spend an afternoon on a Music City shopping spree. A little-known fact is that Nashville has the largest con-centration per capita of independent fashion designers outside of Los An-geles and New York. https://www.visit-musiccity.com/visitors/thingstodo/shop
