Recommendations- Situational analysis and geographic mapping of school lying near
highways/ main roads;- Committed funding for road safety education;- Development and inclusion of road safety education curriculum;- Capacity building of schools and staff for undertaking road safety;- Provision of child-centered learning aids for children at school;- Additional funding by local district government to fund road safety
activities for children and communities;- Government provision for free transport and/or road safety scout
teams to ensure greater safety for school children;- Parental involvement programs (through community media) on
road safety education;- Media messaging on prime-time slots;- Campaign for road infrastructure improvement through
collaboration of concerned departments;- Strategic alliances for greater inter-departmental coordination
and ownership.
Recommendations
• Educating the drivers regarding road safety
• Include road safety education in the national curriculum
• Teachers should take initiatives themselves and introduce road safety in their schools.
Recommendations
• Children both in rural and urban areas should be made aware of the importance of road safety.
• All the cars should have child locks.
• Creating awareness regarding road hazards among kids.
Recommendations
• Involving community in child’s learning through child to child approach
• Developing life skills and critical thinking among kids to bring a change in their attitudes and behaviors.
• Introducing fun active methods and practical approaches to teach road safety in schools.
Recommendations
• Spreading road safety awareness according to the local needs/context.
• Schools should be used as platform to create awareness regarding road safety.
• Strict law and order should be enforced to assure road safety.
• Self realization of the importance of road safety.
Recommendations
• Educating street children along with the school going children.
• Media should be used as an effective tool for creating the awareness.
• First aid training should also be introduced at school level.
