Institutions are facing ever increasing challenges including disruption through digitalisation and the demands from the workforce for graduates with appropriate work readiness and skillsets.

In addition to offering the right mix of courses and providing quality teaching staff, it is essential to uphold the integrity of the campus and facilities to fully provide exceptional student experiences. To this end, a highly strategic campus facility management function is critically important. To unlock value, transfer risk and improve services in facilities management, institutions are looking to outsource non-core activities to an integrated and proactive services partner such as Spotless. At Spotless, providing facility services within the education sector is a central part of our offering. We employ over 2,000 staff to deliver our range of single, bundled and integrated services in partnership with over 1,500 schools, TAFEs and university campuses in Australia and New Zealand. Spotless specialises in providing the services that maintain your learning and research assets, enabling you to support your students journey from the classroom to a career.

VICTORIAN SCHOOLS CLEANING

The Victorian School Building Authority as part of the Department of Education and Training (DET) is responsible for managing the Victorian government school asset portfolio which comprises more than 1500 schools made up of over 37,700 buildings that collectively accommodate over 599,000 students. In 2017 the Authority created a new Area-Based Model for the delivery of Cleaning Services. Spotless was awarded as the single contractor for cleaning services in the Inner Eastern (121 school campuses) and Bayside Peninsula (159 school campuses) regions. This new structure enables elements of service delivery which are common across each School to be administered by the Service Provider and monitored by the DET centrally while elements of service delivery which are School specific shall also be monitored at an individual School level.

GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY

Spotless commenced a long term partnership with Griffith University at the start of 2019, with our security team providing a range of campus support services to all five campuses across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Spotless was commended for achieving a rapid and seamless mobilisation of personnel to commence the new contract within 4 weeks of executing the agreement.

Our Campus Support Service model represents a superior value proposition to the University by delivering the following benefits:

• Optimised lifestyle rosters and shift structures that attract and retain the best quality of personnel

• Our ability to leverage the broader Spotless and Downer Group breadth of services to access global best-in-class security and technology solutions for

the University.

ISO 55001

ISO 55001 REQUIRES THE INTEGRATION OF MANY ACTIVITIES

1. Detailed asset management planning data, forecasting investment spend over a 20-year horizon, formed by validated condition data and categorised by criticality. This enables strategic asset investment decision making.

2. Lowered year on year the earned value outcomes for delivery of maintenance across the asset portfolio. Transparent work management financial data demonstrate increased preventative maintenance work delivered for a lower overall total cost.

• Spotless sits on the Asset and Data Management Office (ADMO) Council, bringing together Downer’s asset management professionals (rail, roads, mining, utilities, technology) to provide an innovative and learning organisation in Asset Management.

3. Greater understanding of asset availability, criticality and areas of vulnerability. Through Spotless’ rigorous asset data collection, asset condition can be mapped by criticality, enabling agencies to focus on areas of greatest risk to their business.

• Since 2007, Spotless has been the facilities manager for Orange Hospital, which achieved ISO 55001 certification in 2017, the first hospital in Australia to be certified.
