第２問 次の会話文を読み，後の問いに答えなさい。なお，「✽」のついた語句には注釈がつけら

Mary: I’m so excited about spring vacation! I’ve been looking forward to traveling for the

next four weeks.

John: Where do you plan to go?

Mary: I’m planning on visiting my host family. Last year I studied in the USA. .

John: Your host family? That’s the first I’ve heard of this! How long did you study in

America?

Mary: I attended Eagleland High School in Texas for about 2 years.

If I had the chance I’d like to go to university there, but I’m afraid that ①__________. John: That’s too bad. I heard that universities and colleges over there are very expensive.

Mary: Yes, I read an article that said, on average, colleges and universities in the United

States have the most expensive ✽tuition fees in the world.

John: Yes, but you know what they say, “you get what you pay for”.

Mary: One of the advantages about studying abroad is that we can study with people from

many countries! There are a large number of international students studying in

American universities. In fact, my host family is currently hosting two students,

one is from Korea and the other is from China.

John: That sounds like a great opportunity to meet new people from all over the world.

What will you do when you meet your host family?

Mary: As I said before, since my host family is hosting two university students, we’re going

to have a barbeque at their house. Apparently they were both employed in a

restaurant, so cooking is their specialty.

John: Wow that sounds amazing! What *cuisine will be prepared?
