The EFDC Model• The Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code

(EFDC) is a general-purpose modeling package

• Simulates 1,2 & 3-D flow, transport, and biogeochemical processes in surface water systems (rivers, streams, lakes, estuaries, coastal waters and open ocean)

• EFDC model was originally developed at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science

• EFDC is a public domain model• EFDC_DSI is Dynamic Solutions-Interna-

tional’s enhanced and optimized version

EFDC Structure

• EFDC’s hydrodynamics are based on the 3D hydrostatic equa-tions formulated in curvilinear-orthogonal horizontal coordi-nates and a sigma or stretched vertical coordinate system.

What is EFDC_Explorer?• EFDC_Explorer(EE) is a pre-and post-process-

ing tool developed by DSI for two versions of EFDC:

- EFDC_DSI (Primary model) - EFDC_GVC/EFDC/EPA(Legacy applications)• EE7 significantly streamlines the modeling

process: - model Input Preparation - Use of 2D GIS type information to define and edit model inputs - Context Sensitive Point & Click access to cell propertise and BC assignments• EE7 provides a a significantly enhanced yet

simpler interface than previous versions of EE

EFDC_Explorer 란 ?• EFDC_Explorer(EE) 는 EFDC 의 두 가지 버전

DSI 에서 개발 한 사전 및 사후 처리 도구입니다 : - EFDC_DSI ( 이전 모델 ) - EFDC_GVC / EFDC / EPA ( 기존 응용 프로그램 )• EE7 크게 모델링 프로세스를 간소화 : - 모델 입력 준비 - 모델 입력을 정의하고 편집 할 2D GIS 형식 정보 사용 - 상황에 맞는 포인트 및 셀의 성질과 BC 배치에 대한 액세스 ( 접근 ) 를 클릭• EE7 은 EE 의 이전 버전보다 크게 향상된 아직 간단한 인터페이스를 제공합니다
