Introduction
• Tencel fiber has been reinvented by denim designers as the perfect complement to today’s fashion trends.
• jeans with tencel fibre are attractive, durable and become immediate favorites thanks to their enhanced comfort.
• The key performance criterion of cotton-tencel denim fabric is moisture management which determines the comfort level.
• The removal of the surface fibrillated hairs from cotton-tencel denim fabrics by cold enzyme can be effected , with minimal effect on the bulk of the fabrics.
• Vintage look of denim fabric is very fashionable and it is the main attraction of young generation
• Industrial washing is one of finishing method of garments such as jeans which is mostly used in textile industry
• with the advent of technologies and equipment to get over dyed-look, damaged-look, scrubbed-look
Denim washing
Denim washing is the aesthetic finish given to the denim fabric to enhance the appeal and to provide strength.
There are two types of denim washing :1. Wet process 2. Dry process
Wet process of denim
There are many kinds of wet process:• Rinse wash• Enzyme wash• Enzyme bleaching wash• Softeners wash• Acid wash• Rubber ball wash• Resin wash• Garments wash
Enzyme wash
• Enzyme washing is a laundering process that uses enzymes to
clean clothing or to finish cotton.• In the case of jeans and other
garments with a worn in look
Conventional enzyme wash
Working condition:
• Temperature= 45-50c• Time =30-35• Ph = 4.5-5
Why cold enzyme washing
Reasons for using cold enzyme wash:• Time consumption• Temperature saving• Eco-friendly
Cold enzyme wash
• Working condition:• Temperature = 20-35°c• Time =20-35 minute• PH = 4- 4.5
