    Equines hold special position in livestockboth for civil and military purpose in view ofits multifaceted utility.

    AI with frozen Jacks semen is animportant aspect in production of superiormules and up gradation of indigenous

    donkeys. Various studies in other species indicatedthat thawing temperature and durationplays significant role in post-thaw motility.

    Keeping in view, a trial was conducted ondifferent thawing temperature and timeduration to study its effect on post thawsperm motility.

    Five exotic jacks maintained at Equine

    Production Campus, NRCE Bikaner wereutilized for semen collection and itspreservation.

    Citrate- EDTA and Lactose glucose-EDTAEgg yolk were used as primary andsecondary extenders, respectively forsemen cryopreservation.

    The semen was stored in 0.5 ml capacitystraws.

    It is concluded that the optimum temperaturefor thawing of semen straws was observed as37 C for one minute.

    However, straws can also be thawedsatisfactorily at 37 C for two minutes and 70 Cfor 5 seconds only.
