    Kokuyo Co., Ltd., the parent company of Heartland Co., Ltd., is a company with four pillars of stationery, furniture, office mail order and retail. We have sales base of 293 billion yen at the end of December 2014, 6673 employees, 22 consolidated subsidiaries, and overseas in China, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore.

    Kokuyo Co., Ltd. employment of people with disabilities is old, and since 1954, employment of people with hearing disabilities has begun. Hearing impaired people were able to work smoothly in a factory where noise was intense. Kokuyo Co., Ltd. established KokuyoK Heart Co., Ltd. (a special subsidiary) in 2004 to strengthen the response by concentrating workplaces of persons with disabilities.

    Heartland Co., Ltd. (special subsidiary) was founded in 2007 as agriculture is effective for hiring intellectual disabled persons and mentally disabled persons.

    As of June 1, 2015, the KOKUYO CO., LTD. Group achieved the employment rate of disabled persons at 2.1%.

    Kokuyo K Heart Co., Ltd. employs 38 people with disabilities out of 81 employees, and Heartland Co., Ltd. employ 7 people with disabilities among 19 employees.

    Outline of decision on budget estimation related to global warming countermeasure by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries

    In order to promote global warming countermeasures, we will promote the introduction of renewable energy, etc. in agricultural and mountainous fishing villages, in addition to steadily promoting greenhouse gas emission reduction measures in forestry and fisheries industry and food industry, measures for absorbing sources such as forests.

    2. Measures for absorption sources

    We will promote thinning, road network improvement, reforestation after the end of cutting, etc. to secure carbon dioxide forestabsorption of 3.5% or more.
