This is the first such partnership for English Home and a first foray into de-signing for the home for Sue, who is renowned for her elegant red carpet dresses and Hollywood glamour. The association between Gaynor Church-ward, owner and Creative Director of English Home, and Sue Wong, is a perfect match since both share a passion for antique and vintage textiles which has inspired each to become a designer in their respective trades. Drama and historically referenced creations are by-words for their designs, which rely on highly skilled workmanship and meticulous attention to detail.

The first three collections Hollywood, Parisienne and Shanghai epitomise the Sue Wong style and include three beautifully coordinating fabrics available by the metre  (see centre pullout).

“My inspiration for my collection for English Home will incorporate the vintage romantic aesthetics of my glamorous red carpet gowns, and based upon my core aesthetic of iconic  Hollywood Glamour of the 1920’s and 1930’s with a modern twist. The initial Sue Wong for English Home collaboration will fea-ture  my  influence of  Deco Asian and Art Deco themes - a gorgeously sump-tuous beginning for my association with the remarkably gifted Ms. Church-ward. I hope that you enjoy!”

Our designs can be made up in different English Home fabrics or colours. For example, the look of a baroque design made up in velvet or silk will change instantly from formal to relaxed when made in linen or jute. This facility opens up a great variety of choices. All sizes can be customised. If you need a bedspread for an extra large bed, your ceilings are a particular height, or you would like a longer throw or a bigger table cover, we can adjust any design to fit your requirements.
