Why is there an allocation procedure?
The Department offers various seminars in the winter and summer semesters.
The number of places depends on the seminar and is limited.
The Office for Student Affairs coordinates the offer and demand with an allocation
procedure (Allocation of seminar places).
The allocation of seminar places by the Office for Student Affairs starts at the same
time as the publication of the course catalogue (September 1st or March 1st)

Seminar as examination performance
If the seminar performance is not provided, the seminar will be assessed
with the grade “5” and booked as examination.
The seminar topic can be returned up to two weeks after the topic has
been assigned. After this deadline, the seminar participation is regarded
as examination participation.
On request, a resignation due to illness can be approved by the
examination committee.

Masterseminar
Process – Kick-Off (Allocation of topics) and then?
Can I still cancel the seminar registration after the kick-off?
After the kick-off, you have 2 weeks to return the topic and completely cancel
your seminar registration without any consequences.
When will my seminar appear as a course in TUCaN?
When the 2 weeks are over, the chairs will send the final list of participants to
the Office for Student Affairs.
The Office for Student Affairs registers the students for the exam in TUCaN
based on the lists of participants.
