The elderly are more likely to suffer from health problems like arthritis and rheumatism, eye disorders and hearing disabilities.

They are more prone to suffer due to hypothermia (low body heat), especially during winter. They may even be suffering from psychiatric problems such as Senile Dementia (Alzheimer's disease)

Always allow the person to have adequate time to understand your question. Please be patient with them, remember some of the elderly do not hear as well as you do.

If you have a loved one that has been diagnosed with a dementia related illness. Always be cautious when they are having their meals.

Allow your loved one ample time to begin walking after arising from a seated position.

Spend good quality time with your dear loved one. Remember to integrate their psychosocial needs and the task they must accomplish (Integrity vs. Despair)
