General Description

The range of stoving ovens are designed to offer stoving facilities for both large and small repair workshops and can be used in conjunction with the range of varnish tanks. They may also be used to dry out windings where dampness is thought to be causing low earth leakage insulation resistance.

The ovens are electrically heated and have a circulation fan to ensure uniform heat distribution. Operation is automatic and can be configured to make use of cheap off-peak electricity with the use of an in-built 24-hour timer. The oven is loaded via a trolley mounted on rails.

Available on request is the option of a chart recorder to monitor and log the oven temperature throughout the cycle.

In addition to our standard range, we have a full in house design capability to design bespoke stoving ovens to meet our customers’ individual requirements.

Like all members of the range of equipment, this product is the result of many years of experience in the rewind and repair industry, and has been in use in our own repair workshops.

The stoving ovens need to be located in a dry environment and placed on a flat and level concrete floor.

TYPE MAS 600

PREAMBLE The use with confidence of the dielectric fluids in the transformers, circuit break-ers, and other types of elec-trical equipment depends upon some of their basic characteristics, which can affect the general operating efficiency of the electrical equipment. In order to ensure manifold functions such as an insulant, a coolant and an extinguishing medium, these dielectric fluids must have some basic properties, and especially a high dielec-tric strength. Now, in service, the dielec-tric fluids properties may be affected by the appearing of oxidation, condensation and other contaminants such as water, solid impurities and dissolved gases. Working on the principles of filtration,

dehydration and vacuum degasification, oil treatment plants are par-ticularly recommended to maintain, dry and fill your transformers and circuit-breakers. By removing the impurities, dissolved mois-ture and gases, they indeed enable to restore the oil di-electric properties and to extend the useful life of your electrical equipment. Used and well-known all over the world for their per-formance, reliability and ease of operation, our stan-dard plants are now enriched with our latest technologi-cal achievements. Automated, fitted with re-mote control or telecontrol systems, our oil treatment plants are more and more autonomous, which insure you increased productivity.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE STANDARD OIL TREATMENT PLANTS

TYPE MAS 600

The oil treatment plants has been designed to treat dielectric oil having a 50 ppm moisture content and a dis-solved gas content of approx. 10% by volume before being treated. After getting the optimal treatment conditions, the clean treated oil goes out after 1 pass at a maximum temperature of 70°C with a moisture content below 5 ppm* and a dissolved gas con-tent of approximately 0,1% by volume*. The breakdown voltage

of the oil will be in excess of 75 kV after treatment. An oil at 20 ppm will go out at 3 ppm* after 1 pass. The above figures are reached with oils having a 10-2 mbar distilla-tion curve at a temperature of 80° C.

SUMMARY:

MAS 600 on road trailer with tarpaulin

Page 44: Electrical Workshop

The dielectric fluid enters in the plant through an inlet strainer, and then passes through an inlet oil pump and a fine filtration on cartridge. After oil heating, thanks to immersion heaters , the di-electric fluid is sprayed into a vacuum chamber on a basket of « Degasing » rings. Fi-nally, after the contaminants are eliminated, the clean treated fluid flows through the outlet oil pump.

DESCRIPTION

The Megger range of automatic oil testers offer fully

automatic testing with many advanced features. The design

allows the operator to simply prepare an oil test vessel,

load it with the sample oil, place it in the chamber and

initiate the test sequence. The test set then carries out, the

series of tests as specified in a large number of oil testing

specifications. These define the sequence of tests including

the stand and stir times, rate of voltage rise and number of

tests resulting in a calculation of the average value of the

oil breakdown strength. Withstand or proof testing can

also be selected. This test subjects the oil to a preselected

voltage for 1 minute to check for a breakdown.

The OTS60PB is a fully automatic, battery powered,

portable oil test set. The test voltage is electronically

controlled to the maximum of 60 kV. Designed for on site

testing, the instrument is supplied in a rugged carrying

case with a handle for ease of transportation. An internal

rechargeable battery gives a large number of tests before

recharging. A clear display shows a menu of test options

and guides the operator through the set up programme,

illustrates the correct test electrodes and gap to use, shows

the progress of each test and gives the results of the test

sequence. The result can be set to give either a numerical

average (with standard deviation where specified) or a

pass/fail message. The display can be set to read in

English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

An optional printer kit enables hard copies of results to be

produced. Accessories, such as the battery charger, spare

vessels, spare electrodes and a spacing gauge are located

in an attached compartment. Stirring is carried out by a

motor driven paddle stirrer.

The OTSAF/2 range are laboratory instruments with many

advanced features. Three versions are available with

maximum test voltages of 60 kV, 80 kV and 100 kV. They

offer fully automatic operation plus the benefit of a built

in printer to produce a hard copy of the test results and

the ability to program up to five user defined tests for

individual applications. The withstand test can be set to

operate at any test voltage and with an initial stand time.

The dot matrix liquid crystal display can also be set to

read in one of six languages. An oil test vessel, configured

to suit the IEC156 test specification, is supplied with the

instrument.

A large, backlit, liquid crystal display shows test menus,

set up screens and results. The resolution of the high

voltage output is displayed to 0,1 kV.

Results can be printed on the internal dot matrix printer or

transferred via the RS232 interface to an external printer or

PC. Printouts are automatically time and date stamped.

Standard stirring with the OTSAF/2 is achieved by a

magnetic stirrer bar. Additional vessels are available

optionally, including one suitable for testing to the ASTM

D1816 specification. This calls for stirring to be carried out

by a motor driven impeller. Each test can be selected with

either magnetic stirring, propeller stirring or no stirring.

The VCM100 is a calibration meter suitable for verifying

the calibration of oil test sets. The meter will enable the

Microprocessor controlled fully automaticoil test sets

high voltage output to be checked, traceable to national

standards, and is suitable for all recent laboratory models

of Megger oil dielectric strength test sets such as the

OTSAF series and the OTS auto and semi automatic series.

The calibration meter fits in the oil test set chamber in

place of a standard vessel. The design ensures that the

load to the transformer is similar to the load during an oil

dielectric strength test. The voltage indication is viewed on

an analogue display marked from 0 to 100 kV with 2 kV

divisions. The scale also shows pass tolerance bands to

enable a quick assessment of the accuracy to be made.

The meter is supplied in a protective bag.

Oil test sets will display the individual breakdown voltage

and their average value. The VCM100 allows the actual

applied voltage to be quickly and easily checked against

the displayed value giving immediate confidence in the

calibration of the oil test set.

OTS/VCM100 Allows a quick check of high voltage output to be made`

Tests up to 100 kV with accuracy of 3%

Easy to read mirror arc display with tolerance bands

OPERATION

The OTSAF/2 series are programmed with a test sequence

suitable for using the VCM100 called ‘CHECK

CALIBRATION’. This sequence causes the output of the oil

test set to ramp up from 0 kV to the maximum voltage

value, pausing at each 10 kV point for 10 seconds to allow

the calibration to be checked.

Other versions of Megger oil test sets (such as the OTSAF,

OTS60 auto and OTS75 auto) can be used in manual

mode or with a low rate of voltage rise to allow checking

with the VCM100. Later versions of the OTSAF also have

the ‘CHECK CALIBRATION’ procedure.

General Description Designed for off-load testing of 3 phase motors. A combined 0-5 kV AC flashtester and 500V DC megohmeter enables suitable tests to be carried out prior to running. Tap-change switches enable the motors to be “run-up”, starting on a low voltage (50V) and working up to nameplate voltage. The console tests motor performance using the lock rotor formula. A lock switch disconnects the blue phase and thereby locks the rotor. If the lock rotor amperage reading is applied to the lock test formula, then the motor kW (HP) rating can be calculated. A range of plugs and sockets to BS 4343 (and CEE.17 / IEC) requirements are provided on the side of the unit to allow safe connection to motors for testing.

EDAIII SYSTEM

Expert Diagnostic System for rotating machines

Condition based maintenance (CBM)

Introduction EDAIII System makes a group of measures to characterize the machine condition under test in pollution, moisture (external or internal) and dielectric ageing terms, using for it a test kept in the IEEE62 standard, which let us to obtain a group of parameters that allows us detect and confirm all the possible problems. The advantage provided by EDAIII System is the complete insula tion machine condition’s knowledge, allowing us remove non-programmed shutdowns, urgent maintenance actions, and obtain less maintenance time and making easier and guaranteeing the decision process. All this means less maintenance costs.

EDAIII System is applicable to: § Generators

§ Thermal § Hydraulic § Turbo

§ Motors § Medium Voltage (MV) § High Power Low Voltage (LV) § Direct Current (DC)

Unlike other systems, allow us two methods of evaluation: § Direct diagnostic, with the parameters

obtained at the finish of each test. § Trend analysis to follow the evolution

of the parameters to determine if we are on a risky zone.

Description Insulation problems are the major cause of failure of medium and high voltage electrical equipment. EDAIII System

provides a means of monitoring the many parameters that can indicate insulation problems and allow the engineer to

Page 58: Electrical Workshop

EDAIII System

2/11 EDA data sheet

diagnose both reversible and non reversible insulation problems (see Table 1). A variety of stresses occur during the lifetime of motors and generators, arising from mechanical, electrical and contamination effects. These lead to a number of different failure modes with perhaps catastrophic results, Quality of Service (QoS), economical and technical. No single test provides the full picture of insulation condition. Field experience and economics The EDAIII System has great field experience. Diagnostic criteria of the parameters were developed with Iberdrola, a major European utility, over seven years using results from testing over 10000 motors >3KV and more than 2000 power generators. With this system, unplanned downtime may be virtually eliminated, and maintenance costs may be optimised and drastically reduced. Several services companies have adopted EDAIII System. Rewind costs for a large motor, including transportation, can easily exceed $20,000. Costs of an unexpected failure on-line are even higher. Therefore, the amortization is immediate with the first tests. Automatic and ease of use It’s very important in order to make predictive maintenance that all tests will be comparative in time, removing all the mistakes caused by measuring instrument, user, and environments factors. The manage to make this, is using automatic measure systems and closed tests, in which user hasn’t got any possibility of chance and the measured values are

standardized automatically in temperature, capacitance and voltage. The EDAIII technique takes all measurements under Windows T M based PC control, which also prompts the user to make the correct connections to the motor or generator under test, so the testing is easy to carry out. EdaIII Method: According IEEE62 standard, EDAIII makes the following measurements: § Temperature and humidity. § Capacitance at D.C. and 1 kHz. § Leakage currents during charge and

discharge periods when DC Voltage is applied between winding and earth. (This measures are made at two different voltage levels).

Since this measures the EDAIII system calculates automatically a group of parameters and each of these parameters shows an specific problem of the insulation machine system and its severity: moisture, pollution, dielectric ageing… These parameters are based in theoretical principles and experienced by qualified engineers for 10 years of testing and trending in more than 10000 machines. Information obtained EDAIII System identify easily the insulation problems in rotating machines and depending on its nature we can divide it in reversible and non-reversible problems (see Table 1).

Model 1604 - 40,000 count bench multimeter

A value-for-money DMMThe 1604 is a low-cost auto/manual ranging bench-top DMMwith a large and bright LED display.It offers 4¾ digit (40,000 count) scale length, true RMS acmeasurements, a basic accuracy of 0.08% and a resolution of10µV, 10mΩ and 0.1µA.

A substantial bench-top instrumentThe 1604 is a robust mains-powered bench-top instrument.Unlike a hand-held multimeter it stays where you put it even withheavy test leads connected. The multi-position tilt stand en-sures that the large display is always readable.

Smart functionsThe 1604 incorporates several “smart” functions such as Rela-tive measurement and Minimum-Maximum storage. The T-Hold function enables readings to be held on the displayautomatically each time a new test point is probed.

True RMS ac rangesAll AC measurements on the 1604 are True RMS. This avoidsthe errors on non-sinusoidal waveforms associated with othermultimeters.Good ac bandwidth enables measurement within the audioband and ensures that higher frequency components of switch-ing waveforms are included within the measurement result.

Frequency measurementThe 1604 has a frequency function which can be selected onany ac range in order to measure the frequency of the signal.Frequencies up to 40kHz can be measured and the maximumresolution is 0.1Hz.

Isolated RS-232 interfaceThe 1604 is fitted with an isolated RS-232 interface. This per-mits remote control and data-logging to disk using optional Win-dows based software.

FEATURES

The MFT1500 Series instruments use the patented Meggerdigital/analogue arc display. The analogue arc provides anindication of fluctuating readings, while the digital readoutproviding the ability to record accurate results.

All test functions are selectable from the main panel, withno hidden ranges or functions to forget.

Special functions include:

VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT

AC/DC Volt meter provides a means of measuring the supply voltage independently of any other test functions, eliminating the need to carry a separate multimeter.Automatic selection of AC or DC measurement up to 270 V a.c./d.c.

CONTINUITY TESTING

200 mA continuity from 0.01 Ω to 99.9 kΩ exceeds allcurrent requirements for testing final ring circuitconductors, and bonding of services.

Automatic continuity testing commences the momentthe test probes touch the circuit to be tested, allowingfast testing with both hands free.

Fast Continuity buzzer is a fast buzzer tone, with nodelay on each test for the buzzer to sound, savingvaluable operator time. This test includes a fast safetycheck for the presence of a voltage as the test probesare connected to the circuit.

Variable buzzer threshold controls the limit at whichthe continuity buzzer stops sounding. Selected from 2 Ωto 100 Ω in 6 steps.

Lead Null stores the test lead resistance and deducts thisvalue from the continuity result, even if the instrument isswitched off. Thus reducing the chance of possiblemeasurement errors.

INSULATION TESTING:

Insulation test at 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V for testinglow voltage applications. A 1000 V warning is issuedprior to performing the 1000 V insulation test.

Live circuit warning when performing insulation orcontinuity measurements a live circuit warning isdisplayed and an audible warning sounded if connectedto a circuit with a voltage greater than 25 V (15 V forcontinuity testing).

Safety lockout at voltages greater than 55 V duringcontinuity and insulation testing, the instrumentautomatically warns the operator and inhibits anytesting, preventing accidental damage to the instrumentand full protection to the operator.

The ‘Auto discharge’ facility safely discharges allcircuits after an insulation test, preventing accidentalshock from a stored charge on a long cable during orafter disconnection.

LOOP TESTING

Low current loop test is a 3 wire non-tripping 0.01 Ω loop test designed to prevent RCD tripping byusing a sophisticated 15mA loop test pioneered byMegger Limited. This NO-TRIP test ensures the RCD willnot trip whilst performing a loop impedance test.

High current loop test at 25 A provides a fast loop testwhere no RCD is fitted, or for Ze measurement on theincoming side of an RCD.

Supply Voltage and Polarity indication uponconnection to the mains supply the polarity and voltageare displayed to show correct wiring of the socket undertest or test lead connections. This function also providesa warning of live voltages while continuity or insulationtesting.

Phase-Phase Phase-Neutral and Phase-Earth Loop Testsare possible. No danger of damage from accidental 3-phase connection.

Wide supply voltage; allows loop measurements from55 V to 480 V. No damage if accidentally connectedacross phases.

Prospective Short-circuit Current (PSC) A dedicatedPSC range, using the 25 A high current loop test, isprovided for rapid measurement of Loop currents, bothat the socket outlet and distribution board. The PSCranges from 1 A to 19.9 kA with a resolution of 1 A, 10 A and 100 A depending on range. All the loop andPSC tests are auto-ranging.

RCD TESTING:

10 mA to 1000 mA RCD ranges. All standard RCDsfrom 10mA to 1000 mA are fully supported. All standardRCD test functions are available with both 0° and 180°phase angle.

RCD Ramp test measures the RCD trip current. Theramp test displays the actual trip current on all RCDranges instead of trip time. Ideal for identifying nuisancetripping RCDs. The current is stepped up from 1/2I tox1I in 200 ms steps.

DC sensitive RCD test option that provides a solution totesting DC sensitive RCDs.

GENERAL FEATURES:

Quick to pick up and use by using colour codedranges and no hidden functions the MFT1500 takesminutes to learn how to use. Function buttons arecolour matched to the test mode to ensure easyoperation.

Visible and audible Safety warning features areparamount with live circuit warning and protectioncircuitry. If live voltages exist on a circuit duringinsulation or continuity testing the voltage is displayedon the screen. If this voltage exceeds a safe level, theMFT1500 inhibits further testing and a warning beepersounds for extra safety.

Large easy-to-read LCD using the patented Meggerdigital/analogue arc technology - combining high speedanalogue clarity with digital stability. Making it easy toread even in low light level.

Economical with batteries by incorporates an autoshut off facility that operates after 5 minutes of inactivity, reducing wasted battery consumption.

to measure resistance from 0.1 µΩ to 2000 Ω, on one of seven

ranges.

For users who desire more control over the measurement process,

DLRO 10X uses a menu system controlled by a two-axis paddle to

allow the user to manually select the maximum test current.

DLRO 10X also adds real time download of results and on board

storage for later download to a PC.

Both instruments are built into a strong, lightweight case that is

equally at home in the field or in the laboratory. Light enough to

be worn around the neck, they are small enough to be taken into

areas that were previously too small to access.

DLRO 10 uses a large, bright 4 1/2 -digit LED display while DLRO

10X has a large, backlit LCD display. Normally, measurements are

made with forward and reverse currents to cancel the effects of

any standing voltages across the test sample.

The average value is then displayed within 3 seconds, to a basic

accuracy of 0.2%. DLRO 10X displays both forward and reverse

measurements as well as the average of the two.

DLRO 10X allows the user to set high and low pass limits, thereby

enabling simple go-no-go testing.

At the end of a test DLRO10X will store the test results, as well as

any notes relevant to the test.

To assist operator safety and ease of use, both instruments are

supplied complete with a pair of duplex handspikes with 1.2 m

(4 ft) leads. One of the probes is fitted with LED’s, which

duplicate indicators on the instrument display indicating that all

four contacts have been made, the presence of a high voltage

across the load, and the presence of current flow while a load is

discharging. A full range of test leads is available with probes,

clamps and Kelvin clips.

Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries power the instruments.

The battery packs are interchange-able so that an exhausted

battery may be recharged using the external charger supplied

while testing continues using a spare pack. Although full charging

will take 4 hours, a fast charge mode allows the battery to be 90%

charged within 2 1/2 hours from a 12 volt battery or from a

standard 120/230 V AC supply via the supplied charger. The

battery pack contains its own battery state indicator, which allows

the charge-state to be monitored, even without being connected

to the instrument.

DLRO 10X is fitted with RS232 communications that will allow

results to be downloaded in real time or stored for later retrieval.

Up to 700 sets of results may be stored within DLRO 10X

complete with notes containing up to 200 characters which may

be added using the on board keypad. These results can also be

downloaded to a PC.

MEASUREMENT MODES:A variety of measurement modes are available. Since the

introduction of V2.0 firmware, Normal, Auto, Continuous and

Inductive mode are available on both the DLRO 10 and the

DLRO 10X.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Small, lightweight and portable - can be used in tight places,

reduces the need for extra long leads and two person

operation.

Four terminal resistance method shows the true resistance of

the item under test.

Bright LED (DLRO 10) and LCD (DLRO 10X) displays are easily

visible under all lighting conditions and reduce human error.

Automatically applies forward and reverse currents which cancel

out any standing voltages across the sample under test.

Checks for undue noise during measurement, reducing the

possibility of recording the incorrect result.

Automatically detects continuity in P and C circuits, preventing

erroneously high reading to be taken due to high resistance

contact.

Battery module has a battery condition indicator allowing the

user to check the state of spare batteries without connecting to

the instrument.

RS232 connector on the DLRO 10X allows downloading of

results in real time or stored for later retrieval.

DLRO 10 will display the average of the measurements achieved

using forward and reverse current, while DLRO 10X displays both

individual measurements and the average.

Normal mode initiates a test by pressing the Test button on the

instrument front panel after connecting the test leads. Continuity

of all four connections is checked, forward and reverse currents

are applied.

Auto mode allows forward and reverse current measurements to

be made and the average displayed simply by making contact

with all four probes. This mode is ideal when working with the

supplied handspikes. Each time the probes are removed and

reconnected to the load another test will be performed without

the need to press the test button on the instrument.

Continuous mode allows repeated measurements to be made on

the same sample. Simply connect the test leads and press the test

button. The measurement is updated every 3 seconds until the

circuit is broken.

Inductive mode is intended for use when measuring inductive

loads. When measuring inductive loads it is necessary to wait for

the voltage to stabilise. This means that the measurement could

take a few seconds or several minutes. The test leads are firmly

connected to the item to be measured and the Test button is

pressed. The instrument will pass a current through the sample

and wait for the voltage to stabilise. If possible the current will be

increased. This procedure will be repeated until the voltage

detected falls into the range 15 mV to 200 mV. The instrument will

then continue to take readings, which will gradually decrease to

the true value as the voltage stabilises further. The operator

decides when the result is stable and presses the Test button to

terminate the test. Measurement is made with forward current only.

Unidirectional mode, on DLRO 10X only, applies a current in

one direction only. This does not enable any standing emfs to be

negated but speeds up the measurement process. Test starts

automatically when probes are connected.

APPLICATIONS

The needs for accurate low resistance measurement are well

known and very diverse. They range through Goods Receiving

inspection of components to ground bonding and welded joints.

Typical applications include, but are not limited to, making d.c.

resistance measurements of:

Switch and contact breaker resistance

Busbar and cable joints

Aircraft frame bonds and static control circuits

Integrity of welded joints

Inter-cell connections on battery systems up to 600 V peak

Quality control of resistive components

Transformer and motor winding resistance

Rail and pipe bonds

Metal alloys, welds and fuse resistance

Graphite electrodes and other composites

Wire and cable resistance

Transmitter aerial and lightning conductor bonding

The DLROs are light enough to be worn around the neck. They

are also small enough to be taken into areas which were

previously too cramped for easy testing.

Introduction CalBench is the ultimate multifunction calibration station. A wide range of standard modules can be mounted in the primary console; this gives a highly flexible system that is both functional and easy to use. Further expansion can be achieved by adding the optional secondary console 7081. Core modules cover electronic signal, temperature, and pressure applications, non-standard modules for special applications cbe incorporated into the bench consoles; each module is an independent item and there is a high degree of inter-changeability. This allows each bench to be custom designed to meet specific engineering requirements.

an

Functions are clearly defined on each module and a competent technician will quickly master the operation of the system without expensive training or constant reference to manuals. Module Options Pressure: Ranges from vacuum to 600bar. Also available is an Automatic Pressure Calibrator that allows 4 preset points to be selected at the push of a button, or by EasyCal remote control.

Power: Variable AC mains, variable DC and fixed quad or dual DC supplies can be fitted.

Loop and Temperature: High accuracy loop calibrator modules with source, measure and sink functions. Temperature calibrators capable of measuring and simulating RTDs/thermocouples.

External Options: Pneumatic (35bar) and hydraulic (250bar) handheld calibration pumps. Dry block calibrators with ranges from -25°C to 700°C.

Multifunction Calibrator and Control Centre Mounted centrally in the console with touch screen control. Source and measure voltage, current, resistance, frequency and much more. To make calibration faster and more productive, the control centre is preloaded with the well-established EasyCal software, which integrates with bench modules. Offering over 850 test procedures and networking capabilities, it fully automates the calibration process. Engineers can print and customise test certificates as required.

The display will now show the current flow in the circuit together with the polarity. Continuity To test for circuit continuity connect the circuit under test in series with the 7079 continuity terminals. If a circuit exists a audible and visual alarm will sound. The threshold for this test is approximately 100 ohms. Output 24V A separate isolated 24VDC supply is provide to enable the powering up of 4 - 20mA loops for the instrumentation under test. This output is overload protected with an auto re-settable fuse. In the event of an overload allow the fuse to cool for a few minutes before further use. An RS232 port is provided for connection to an EasyCal control port. EasyCal can readback the loop current on demand to allow automatic calibration of pressure transmitters. Panel size: Width 96 x height 201mm

Loop and Temperature Modules

7067 Loop Calibrator The 7067 is a micro-processor based instrument for the calibration of voltage and current loop signals. It can operate in three modes: a) Loop current/voltage source (simulating a transmitter and the loop supply) b) Sink of loop current (simulating a transmitter) c) Measurement of loop current/voltage (simulating a loop indicator). Display is via a dot matrix LCD screen. User input is by 7 front panel buttons. Source functions are a) Manual step, b) Auto step c) Ramp. In step function there are five calibration points, 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of span. In ramp function the output ranges between 0% and 100% of span the ramp rate and dwell time are user programmable. In source mode the range can be user programmed for any values between 0mA to 50mA, or 0V to 21V. For example a low point of 10mA and a high point of 50mA could be set giving a span of 40mA

In measure mode only fixed ranges are available. Current and voltage is displayed in 5-digit format in mA or Volts. Alternatively the current may be displayed in % of span. An automatic power-down feature is incorporated and turns the unit off after approximately 7 minutes if no buttons are pressed. If required the automatic power-down feature can be disabled in the user set-up. Panel size: Width 97 x height 201mm

7069 Current Voltage Loop Calibrator The 7069 is a current, voltage, and loop calibrator that meets the needs of R&D labs and process control engineers. It provides source and measure functions in three ranges, plus a transmitter simulator/sink function. Accuracy is 0.02% of span with a display resolution of 4.5 digits. Output modes include steps and ramps. No menus to learn, just switches and buttons. A multi-turn potentiometer controls coarse output adjustment while increment/decrement buttons are provided for fine control. The source output can be reversed (+/-) and zeroed at the flick of a switch. The front panel features a large easy-to-read 4.5 Digit LCD display that auto-ranges to allow the ranges to be extended by 10% above the normal 0.2/2.0/20 full scale. Manual reset of the ramp function is also provided for quick restore. When used as a source the output can be zeroed and reversed to enable the calibration of centre-zero type voltage or current instruments e.g. –10V to 0 to +10V. If the unit is not operated for approximately 15 minutes, it will automatically power down. If required this feature can be disabled in the user set-up. Panel size: Width 97 x height 201mm.

7061 Multifunction Process Calibrator The 7061 is a comprehensive microprocessor controlled temperature and loop control calibrator. It is the latest version of the series and incorporates high performance digital technology. The 7061 is primarily designed to perform calibration of thermocouple and resistance thermometer input/output instruments. In addition, the calibration and measurement of volts, millivolts, milliamps and ohms can be performed. Panel size: Width 285 x height 201mm

Features and Functions Input signals are connected via 4 sets of terminals, which can be switched by the system to measure thermocouples, volts, milliamps and resistance thermometers. The terminals can be configured for use in many different configurations, e.g. 4 wire resistance thermometers or twin thermocouples. The output section is galvanically isolated from the input section, thus allowing the unit to perform calibrations on both the input and output of the same instrument without regard for common mode voltages, which could otherwise upset the calibration results. The output section can source volts and milliamps, and simulate thermocouples and PT100 resistance thermometers via a pair of terminals. The input and output values are displayed simultaneously on a large alphanumeric LCD display. In addition to conventional functions and ranges, this section provides special ramp and Tx features to enable automatic calibration of loops. The operational parameters of these functions are set-up using menu driven procedures.
