The project site is within the residential and recreational planned area of Hiep Binh Phu'&c ward. The project owner of the planned area is the Engineering and Economic Development Companyof district 6, Ho Chi Minh City.- Its south and east side borders Rach Da river. Its west and north sides are tree gardens.

There are few houses which are distant about 60 meters from the substation.- The project site mostly is sunken land for paddy and coconuts, atropurpurea which often bear

impact of Saigon river flood in flood-tide

CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Impacts on vegetation or vegetation landscape VI Cutting fruit trees (about 406due to cutting tree to clear route, sub-station trees) to clear the plane of theconstruction or temporary access road substation and access road,

totally dug soil volume ofcoconut tree stumps and talusfoundation of substation baseis 461 m3,

Erosion or alluvia due to digging/filling soil V/ Since sunken land, the sidewhich borders Rach Da riverwill be built a stoneembankment before filling itsbase- The material gathering siteat Rach Da river bridgeconstructed a temporary wall, therefore erosion and alluviato the river are Insignificant.Filled sand volume of thesubstation base is 18265Mi3,Impact is assessed at amedium level.

Impacts on atmosphere quality due to emission of /It is insignificant due to thevehicles, equipment and dust in construction substation is remote from theactivities national highway 13 and only

motorcycles can travel on theaccess road of the substation. Therefore, equipments andmaterials have to betransported by waterway.

Noise by vehicles _/ It is insignificant since housesare scattered and distantabout 1 00 meters from thesubstation. So, the impact israther insignificant.

Impacts on cultural properties due to directly /Not found yet. However, if any

environment phase, constructors have tos, iortly advise to cultureagencies of the City

Atmosphere, soil and water contamination due to / PCBs are not allowed using inusing dangerous/harmful materials, including the project.PCBs.

Transport interruption due to constructive X Insignificant in theactivities nearby public places construction phase since the

area is thinly populated.

Healthy and safe impacts by workers' camps X It is insignificant, Camps builton the substation plane havesurrounding fences. There arejoin toilets. Waste is collectedand transported to landfill ofthe city for treatment

Other (state clearly) X There are explosive andcombustible materials

OPERATION PHASE

Contact with magneto-electricity intensity exceeds V Abided by the designthe allowed limit standard

Impacts on vegetation, fauna and flora due to / The project area is small. Cutregular tree cut activities or hit by birds tree is not much, so impact is

not important

Jam to radio/television waves or other V Inrsignificant since the locationcommunicative forms of the substation is distant

from radio communicationstructures

Public health and safety impacts including risk of / Safety regulations andelectric shock measures for substation

operation staff are available. However, it is possible tooccur to locals and staff oncethey do not abide by thesafety measures

Water quality impact due to wastewater / Insignificant since there aredischarged by staff and workers (only with latrines and waste is collectedtransformer station project) and then transported to

landfill of the city fortreatment.

Atmosphere, soil and water contamination due to V Insignificant, however thereusing dangerous/harmful materials are tanks to collect oil and

lubricant

Noise by operation X Equipments with noise withinthe allowable limit of less than70 dB will be installed. Moreover, the substation isdistant from residential areas,so the impact is insignificant.

Other (state clearly): risk of fire and explosion X Possible, options to precludehave been approved by thedepartment of fire preclusionand fighting
