Technical Knowledge
Optikos design engineers haveproven, real-world expertise inOptical Lens, Opto-Mechanicaland Electro-Optical Systemsdesign. With 60+ patents and a rich history of innovativeproduct development, designsare robust and ready for manufacturing.
Risk Management
Using sophisticated designmodeling and prototyping systems, concepts are modeledand proven before productproduction begins therebyavoiding potential problemsand delays.
Professional Staffing
Optikos employs a highlytrained, flexible optical workstaff. Along with the worldclass optics, mechanical, electronics and software designers, our production assembly technicians have high level skills in precisionalignment, opto-mechanical assembly, system testing, and diagnostic evaluation.
Capacity Management
As your program demandschange, so do it’s staffing requirements. You can be sure that you will always haveaccess to the best-qualifiedtechnical personnel no matterhow your production levelsshift. You will have access to as many or few technicians as is required to meet today’sproduction needs.
Specifications Development
Optikos and customer develop a set of performancespecifications that representthe “goals” for the program. These specifications are the basis for final system qualification testing.
Initial Design and Layout
Concepts are made into designlayouts with optical paths andbasic mechanical configurations. At this stage, feasibility of theprogram is examined to insurethat performance criteria canbe achieved. Often, systemmodeling takes place to validate design issues (e.g. straylight analysis, thermal issues, mechanical stability, etc.)
System Design and Layout
Optics, mechanics, and electronics are designed and detailed.
Tolerances
Opto-mechanical tolerancesare added to the concept design.
Build and Test
We validate the buildprocesses and overall systemsperformance. Customers are encouraged to visit and participate when the prototypes are assembled and tested.
Design Optimization
Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/DFA)
Sourcing Strategies
Select and qualify vendors. Optimize price/performancecharacteristics.
Manufacturing & TestingProcedures
Work instructions and inspection procedures aredocumented according toISO:9001 Standards.
Acceptance Testing
Mutually agreed upon testingcriteria is completed andsigned off.
Single Point of Contact
Optikos and Customer establish single contact pointsto insure proper authorizationfor program issues.
Revision Control
Optikos maintains, accordingto customer standards, revision control of systemdocumentation.
Written Authorizations
All changes are documentedand required to have writtenauthorization to proceed.
